Re: What to do in Clutch Time?

when i use my C's the most effective play i run when i need a shot to win it is running a play for Ray Ray i think called "12 double." Basically the 4 & the 5 set screens like a wall on the right side while Ray runs towards the basket. Then they set screens again while Ray Ray runs back up top beyond the arch. I deliver the pass while he's open & am satisfied with the last shot cause most the time he's wide so whether he misses the game winner or not it's a shot I'm happy with cause he was open.

Also don't panic. I've seen many people online with 10 seconds left try to cross me over with Lebron or try to get me to bite with a pump fake. Doesn't work so they throw up a terrible shot and lose. You don't always have to go with your star to win.
Good point about panic...i always played ball in real life so my Ballin instinct kicks in when i play this game. so when i take the last shot online i always remember to run the clock for the last shot, make sure i dish a good pass to an open player,& make sure my jumpshot release is on point. Meanwhile i face kids that will take BS double teamed shots with there star & lose while they have a man open in the corner. Never get why they don't put open guys to use Online.

Re: What to do in Clutch Time?

Drive with your PG and kick it out to your SG/SF for the game winning 3

I've had 3 game winning attemtps so far this season:

Arenas pick and roll with Howard, Arenas was double teamed and Redick was open, kicked it out and hit it.

Inbound play: Arenas dribbled along the 3PT line and got an awesome screen by Howard, open 3 - nailed it

Iso Hedo Turkoglu, corssover and pull up J and in and out

Keep moving and try and catch a screen or pick and roll seems to be most succesful.

Re: What to do in Clutch Time?

If I have enough time to set up:
Sub in the following:
Best Dunker
Other Four Best Shooters

-- Call ISO
-- Immediately, call pick-n-roll
-- Results 1: if they leave the dunker open, pass it to him
-- Results 2: if they leave the ball handler open, shoot it or take it all the way in for a lay-up
-- Results 3: if they help out with the third defender, then you have an open shooter somewhere, pass it to him

If you don't have enough time to do a pick-n-roll ... just get it to a good shooter open (use a screen if you have enough time) and let it fly

Also, you might want to work on your defense. I find that it is usually defensive breakdowns that cause me to wind up in close games, that I should have won in blowout fashion.

with philly, run 1-5 quick but run it with Iggy and you'll have your 1 or 2 open for a 3 because someone will have to help on Iggy's drive otherwise Iggy will finish at the rim.

Re: What to do in Clutch Time?

honestly bro..it really all depends on how u play ur game...like everybody been saying, most people always, and i mean ALWAYS pass to there star player and hope they can get a foul, a bs dunk or layup, or a panic shot (EXAMPLE.. ur down 1 or 2 and your playin wit tha heat... 9 times outta 10 ur gonna give tha ball to lebron and try to drive the lane and pray for sumthin)

like i was sayin tho it all depends on how ur style of play is... wether ur a slow tempo half court type of baller, or ur a im a score of transitions (ie fastbreaks) type of guy... all the tips that everybody gave up earlier to me are good decisions wen theres nuthin left to do... but wit 10 seconds left on the clock AND UR EXPERIENCED u still have alot of options...

Again those iso plays and pick and roll plays will really work on amateur players.. wen ur playin tha experienced players.. they will all ready have a good defensive set, set up, and in the back of their heads they are waiting for the pick and roll, or settin up a defensive play to stop the iso...

the best way to learn bro is to for 1 figure out which team is ur best team and go and learn all of your players plays.... learn the weaknesses and strengths of the plays... learn which plays create more then 1 option for a designated player...(EXAMPLE... if u set 1 up for ray ray, can can u dish off to sum 1 else open or is he your only option)...

also your best bet would be to learn your inbounding plays too...most players NEVER expect those....
