Gaming Excellence has posted their preview of NHL 2K9.

Quote:
"Controls for the Wii are simple and intuitive. Shots are taken by flicking the Wii-mote, like a hockey stick before aiming your shot with the IR sensor. Passes are aimed by pointing the sensor at various players. This makes it very easy to chain together passes and set up plays."

PlayStation.Blog has posted a article called Paradise City Choppers, Burnout's Bikes.

Quote:
"From the second we added the first prototype bike, we wanted to cruise the streets of Paradise City at night. So, in addition to the bikes, we’re adding night to the game. You’ll see day cycle through to night and see the city change with it. Paradise City takes on a life of its own once the rush hour traffic thins out!"

Shawn Drotar over at 5W-G has posted a article called What does the "Madden" demo... demonstrate?.

Quote:
"Odder still is the fact that there’s no menu that will show you the game’s controls, which are complex. After playing EA’s other football title for this season, NCAA Football 09, I’m used to throwing away a pass with the right bumper. In Madden NFL 09, that button doesn’t do the same thing - and there’s no place for me to look and see which button would."

Gamespot has posted their hands-on preview of NHL 2K9.

Quote:
"The big question with any sports game on the Wii is how the console's unique controllers are used, especially the Wii Remote. An overreliance on the Wii Remote's tilt and motion capabilities can result in unresponsive controls (as in NBA Live 08), whereas a lack of Wii-specific controls will have you wondering why you didn't just pick up the 360 version."

The following websites has posted updates for Skate 2:
  • Joystiq: Skate 2 Hands-On

    Quote:
"A new button has been added (RB on 360; R1 on PS3) which is the "hand" button. This is used in tricks to hand plant (which can be tweaked with the right analog stick, and you can take a foot off the board during them as well) and to interact with movable objects."
  • Gamespot: Skate 2 Hands-On (360)

    Quote:
"For as much praise as Skate earned, it could have very easily crashed and burned as a result of the risky "flick-it" controls the game introduced. It was a system that shirked traditional button inputs in favor of a dual-analog control scheme that used the right stick to mimic the sweeping gestures of a skater's feet and the left stick to guide more general body movement."
  • IGN: Skate 2 Hands-On (PS3)

    Quote:
"Veterans will also find though that the new stuff fixes pretty much all of the outstanding "problems" with the first game, adding in the ability to do hand plants, get off your board and much, much more."

You like the links? Let's talk about them!

The weekend was good if you were rooting for some "Hawaii" guys. First congrats to Parker McLachlin who won the Legends Reno-Tahoe Open. Don't even let me get started with Michelle Wie.

Secondly, Shane Victorino of the Phillies had a pretty good day at the plate. And last but not least, Colt Brennan in his pro-debut. Okay, it was just a preseason game, but he was near perfect. Last night's game reminds me of just what he did at the University of Hawaii. Don't let me get started about this year's team...

BTW, gas finally dropped today by two cents! Thought that was not going to happen. Also rode a hybrid bus coming home.
