NCAA '25 Looking More Like Madden...

Anyone else discouraged with gameplay videos when paying attention to the trenches, defense, etc.?

Have a look how at how bad both the OLine and Defender logic is in this video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L9kB-h2eq8I

It seems to be just more lazy/typical EA programming logic and I'm so happy I didn't fall for the hype train and buy a new PS5 plus the game just to get my NCAA fix.

Although some people talk about "Sliders" through various forums, YouTube, etc; I disagree with that aspect and say that the game should absolutely be 100% ready to play PROPERLY on DAY 1 without the need to micromanage gameplay in order to try and fix things via Sliders.

As for getting the game anytime soon:

I think the issue is that the game "playing properly" is going to mean different things to different people, and from a business standpoint it makes sense to have the game lean more towards an arcade experience rather than a true simulation of the sport. We've got to remember that the people on this forum represent a very niche community (and I play with a lot of coach mode, so that's a niche within a niche).

I understand what you're saying, but even for the "arcade-style player" (we'll call them because c a s u a l is banned here), having your Left Tackle drop as far as your QB drops, is ridiculous.

To have that same LT impede your QB as he rolls out and attempts to run is equally goofy. Then, the OLine still can't decide on just who to block and STOPS in front of defenders - all just goofball/lazy programming and proper testing.

Having all defenders roll their zone coverage to an entire side of the field/end zone isn't playing Zone defense properly, either.

It's just frustrating after EA said they "listened to the community" and basically that "this game is for YOU."

Not to beat a dead horse because I've said it more than 2x on here across different posts including this one, I'm just glad that I didn't go ahead and purchase not only the game, but a new PS5 in order to play this.

Does it look like Madden? Kind of. It basically looks as good as I expected it to. Madden 25 will most likely play completely different from CFB24, and it might even feel better.

I've yet to see anything that looks worse than Madden 24, and I actually enjoyed Madden 24s gameplay feel.

Yeah, I'm alright with, but I'm also more of the attitude some things are going to be video-gamey
and lacks 100 percent realism. If EA Madden can't (or doesn't want to) make it better , then I don't expect EA CFB to be different, when it comes to line play down in the trenches.

Also, OP lost me with the lazy talk. It may very well be typical of EA but I haven't spent time at their studio to say if they're lazy or if they aren't.

To copy and paste broken programming logic when you've had over a decade to get it right, is 100% laziness.

Same thing with needing to use "Sliders" and having millions of consumers be your free beta testers instead of releasing a product that functions as it should.

But, if everyone's content with the status-quo, then EA knows they can continue to push things out with some glossier, shinier paint, and keep making billions of dollars in microtransactions alone.

The only thing I've seen that I will give them stellar credit for is the atmosphere, sounds, and appropriate crowd and mascot reactions.
