How is CPU player progression in your NG franchise?

How is the CPU player progression in your franchise?

I'm concerned about backups not progressing on CPU controlled rosters. Since the CPU doesn't practice, and backups see little use and almost none on 3rd string, I'm not sure exactly how backups are supposed to progress on their teams...

Starters sure progress fine in my franchise. I also have a team on auto pilot in my franchise but whenever I switch to that team their backups never have XP.

So I don't get it... Do young players naturally progress each off-season? Or is XP the ONLY way skills increase?

that's where 2k5 had the better progression system, and what madden 10-12 did. it's all about potential, not so much about stats. 2k5 had busts and gems. i could have eli manning sit behind kurt warner his first year or two, he would develop on his own and with coach ratings. madden 10 started having busts too, can't remember if guys would develop without playing time.

what i think should be done is to not give us a potential rating. at least, not give one that clearly tells us what a guy is going to be. then you should have a cap of how many hours you can focus on a guy during practice/offseason. develop guys that way, and then partly progress them on game time and stats, especially stats. derek anderson had a great year in 2007, what did he do after that?

i hate this XP nonsense.

I don't mind the XP system.

I'm just concerned about how/if the CPU uses it, and if backups/younger players on CPU teams even get enough to progress.

That's why I was asking if player progress in the off-season in addition to XP making them progress up.

What Madden needs to do to solve this problem in my opinion is give the CPU teams the same XP you get for practice. I think if they balanced the XP a little bit more than you would have a magnificent progression system for the CPU.

Yeah, I wish the CPU was given like 1,500 in XP a week. That would simulate their team winning and losing 50% of their practices.

At least then it would be fair as far as how much XP you get vs the CPU.

In Madden 13 I would practice, but not use any of the XP!

The players would progress on their own.

It seemed how I practiced was an idea how my guys would perform in the game. Good Practice, Good game. Practice like ****e, then play like ****e on Sunday.

It worked for me & how I play the game.

Interesting, so there must be some progression regardless if XP earned.

When did you see the progression kick in? During the transition to off season?

I stopped practicing to solve the player progression issue tbh.
