Owners Removed

While wrapping up my trial on M20, I was going to get my Franchise primed and ready to roll. I normally play Owner in CFM, but when I went to choose the option, it sent me straight to the create screen where I get to choose character type and name.

After going back and forth in the screen, I just plugged along and went into CFM. Went to the stats tab and yeah, no Owner score.

My bad if I missed this during the hype.

So, I can opt to create an owner or take on the Coach role. Many are saying it's better to go Coach this year because of the Scenario Engine, and that's cool, but what if I'm not particularly attached to Shurmur or happen to get fired? Will I be able to continue my Franchise onward instead of starting from the beginning? Or if I want to make a coach change during an off-season?

Since the scenario engine only works on player or coach career, I decided I am only doing coach careers so I can have full access to the new franchise mechanics so I haven't seen if they have been removed yet. Because scenarios don't work for owner mode I would not at all be surprised if they removed real owners from the game

They removed the actual owners but not the functionality. You can still do everything in owner mode that you normally do. Personally, in this last reiteration I created Mike Brown, relocated the Bengals, and then retired, created Lincoln Riley for my newly relocated team and I'm off in coach mode. Alot of the improvements minimize playing as an owner this year but long as I can relocate a team, I'm good.
