Madden 09: celebration videos (IGN)

I simply appreciate it for what it is. I know why it doesnt look correct (becaue they dont have animated fans, cutscene's to the fans). So if you think about it realisticly how could it be perfect without out the fans actually being able to grab the player?

I'm glad that it somehting rather than not having nothing at all. Yeah its more of a spidey wall climb but its close to what it was supposed to be.

Some people just love to complain about everything and WILL NEVER EVER BE HAPPY, you could make the best madden ever and they will find out that you forgot to give the ref a whistle or somthing along those lines. I've come to the conclusion that most madden basher's will always be madden basher's no matter what.

Instead of saying wow they really stepped up this year, the game looks amazing , plays amazing, ect.... Lets jump on the negative bus and ride it down there throats. C'mon is that lambeau leap really gonna stop you from buying the game? Get over it or simply dont trigger it.

You are way off here. This is a thread about celebration videos. The celebrations in the videos, look off while one in particular, the one that is supposed to be the Lambeau Leap, which is a very well known end zone celebration to any NFL fan, looks really bad and off.

Noone is saying they aren't going to buy Madden off of this and even if they did thats them and shouldn't be an issue to you at all. The fact is a celebration looks bad so people are going to comment on it in a thread about celebrations in the game. Why are people going to say they're glad they stepped up certain things this year when the thread isn't even about that? Also no its not even close to what its supposed to be and thats why people are rightfully posting their issues with it.

I live in Wisconsin and the Lambeau Leap means a lot to the fans and players. It connects the players and the fans. It's special and it's a great alternative to the ME ME celebrations you see by some athletes.

The Lambeau Leap, like Favre, have become universally known and loved by many fans around the nfl.

People are just stating the truth when they see the video, as it looks nothing like a Lambeau Leap. The dunk animation also looks unnatural.

It makes me wonder where the quality control in Madden is, because instantly almost everyone on this board saw how awkward the Lambeau Leap is. This years madden is supposed to be a dedication to Favre and his team the Packers. How can a celebration that was born during Favre's era be so messed up, reviewed, and than approved by quality control.

And for the excuse that the Lambeau Leap couldn't be done correct because Madden doesn't have animated fans. Well that is fixed by making a cut-scene as the player leaps into the stands. It was done last-gen if my memory serves correct. It would be nice if one year we can see closeups cut-scenes of fans walking about and wearing team wear.

Little things like this and the lack of multiple cameras frustrate madden gamers because little stuff like this should never happen. It's strange how such crucial things are overlooked year after year.


Yes madden is improving, everyone acknowledges that, but instances like this are troubling because they aren't a result of difficulty implementing, rather they are a result of lack of attention to detail and quality control.

I reckon someone just messed up the code for the lambeau leap. Ian showed us the mocap for it so it must be in the game somewhere.

It has nothing to do with the code, the animation they have on there is what was captured and implemented into the game. A possible explanation could be that video was titled incorrectly and that's another celebration, not the Lambeau Leap.

It ties into the whole "publisher loyalty" deal some people have, EA could put out the greatest football game ever but because it doesn't say 2k on the box people will piss and moan and complain for the sake of complaining.

Yeah I have to agree...That Lambeau Leap was pretty off......I'm no Packer fan but jeez....That was uuuugly!
