Successfully stealing a base

Any tips on stealing a base fellas? I've been thrown out all 3 tries, using Coco Crisp and Jemile Weeks. Not the slowest guys going and yet not even that close to successful.

Re: Successfully stealing a base

I really need to know what I'm doing wrong. I don't think I can get much bigger of a lead, but is the huge lead tipping the computer? I was in the 13th inning trying to get Coco into scoring position and instead he got thrown out by a mile. It should have at least been close, but it wasn't. What am I doing wrong?

Catcher arm and accuracy slider @ 40. Plus it's an art. The count (2-1, 2-0) on the batter is important, plus the delivery style of the pitcher matters to. Timing is even more important when getting the jump. Practice and Focus.

Also, some pitchers have hitches in their motions that give you extra time. Spend some time reading pitchers to maximize your jump.

I would also say that two steps is not enough. That's my base lead. I'd consider a thee, or even four step lead. Your risk of pick-off is greater, but those steps count.

Failing all of that, increase baserunner speed and drop the CPU's throwing arm.

Good advice.
This was a problem in 2k12 as well. It was nearly impossible to steal a bag.
So, like Mt Oread stated, you're going to have to adjust some sliders.

Watch for pitcher tendencies - if you can time when they're going to pitch the ball, you can easily steal a bag. If you release right before they go into the windup, or step if they're pitching from the stretch: unless you're running with someone like Ryan Howard, the bag is yours. If you release too soon however, you're gonna get picked off. Just like real life baseball.

I just stole one. Had a 4 step lead and took off right when he pitched it. I felt like ricky henderson. Just came out aggressive. The commentators were like marte may take off here. So I did. First pitch. The pticher didn't even look over.
