Worm's fictional draft class- come check it out

So I'm making a new fictional draft class for X-box live and will put it on 2kShare, and am gonna use this thread to advertise it and also post some scouting reports and look for more advice.

If I get enough interest I will post some stories and other things to keep the class interesting, but I'm still going to make scouting reports and post them here.

Here's the reports for some of the guys I've already made, hope you enjoy

Tyronn West, PF, Kansas State

Strengths: Tyronn is a polished, skilled bigman who can step out beyond the arc and drain jumpers, while also creating shots for others due to his fluid ball-handling and passing ability.
Weaknesses: Needs to add strength to bang down low at the next level. Has trouble scoring in the low post due to his lack of strength and moves. Average athleticism.

Bottom Line: Tyronn is an intriguing prospect due to his length and skill. Scouts are comparing him to a smaller Marc Gasol, but with a better jumpshot. Expected to be a mid-lottery pick.

Jin Hu, C, China.

Strengths: Hu has outstanding length at 7'2. He handles the ball well for a seven-footer. He's an all-around solid player who blocks shots and has good touch around the rim. Doesn't suffer from the "knucklehead" factor that plagues seven-footers with great athleticism, such as Javale McGee. Very quick and nimble.

Weaknesses: Will need to bulk up to play inside at the next level, as his jumpshot isn't good enough for him to play on the perimeter. Very weak. Doesn't really excel at one particular area of the game.

Bottom line: Hu has some scouts interested and is agreed upon as the best Chinese prospect since Yao Ming. But what is his role at the next level? Shot blocker? Rebounder? High-post player? Low post player? Expected top-6 pick.

O.J. Ryan, PG, Wake Forest

Strengths: He's got a quick handle and a mean floater. Great passer and he can hit a perimeter jumpshot. Extremely fast and deceptively athletic. Very good in transition.

Weaknesses: Stands just 5'9. Huge defensive liabiltity because he just can't stay in front of people or play solid team defense. His jumpshot is good, but not lights out, meaning he often has to take the ball inside where he's swallowed up among the trees. Non-factor on the boards.

Bottom line: Reminds scouts of a young Nate Robinson, but Ty Lawson is also a good comparison. Can run an up-tempo offense but also has the smarts to create shots in the halfcourt. Late-lottery/ mid first rounder.

Marshall Manning, SG, LSU

Strengths: Great scorer who's lights out from deep. Knows how to use fakes, triple threat, stepbacks and other moves to create good shoots, especially from the outside. Quick.

Weaknesses: Oh boy, where do we start? Average defender, average athlete, can't really score on the inside, doesn't pass the ball and lacks upside.

Bottom line: Will carve out a role for himself in the NBA as a volume scorer off the bench, but don't expect anymore than that. Late lottery draft stock.

Alec Turner, PF, Kentucky

Strengths: Knows every trick in the book for scoring on the inside and in the post. Good mid-range jumpshot. Outstanding post player. Very strong.

Weaknesses: Can't guard on the perimeter due to a lack of quickness. Below- average ball-handler. Brings nothing to the table except scoring ability. Late Lottery draft stock.

Coby Peterson, SF, Ohio State

Strengths: Skilled point-forward who can jump out of the gym. Gets into the paint and finishes strong. Great upside. NBA body at 6'7, 235 lbs.

Weaknesses: Not a very good outside shooter. Still needs work on his grasp of defense and will struggle on that end as a rookie.

Bottom Line: Outstanding prospect who will make a solid contribution as a rookie and can become an all-star with the right tuition. Top-3 pick.

Hope you liked the scouting reports, feel free to ask for me to make a certain player. Remember, if I get enough interest in this project I will start making more scouting reports and other cool stuff. I'd love to get some feedback from you guys, but just so you know, it's still a few solid days' work away from completion.

Re: Worm's fictional draft class- come check it out

I always like these...I would do it myself but my patience is hair thin. Here's some ideas for future players.

Hybrid PG-SF rookies. Something like a rookie version of a poor man's Lebron. A less polished Nicholas Batum for example.

All Defensive players, who aren't going to put up big, if any numbers in buckets. But are a steel wall defensively.

Atheletic SGs, SF's, who are pretty average to below average other than their ability to run and jump, and be athletic.

Big Men who can step behind the 3-point arc. Which I see you've already got.

I also have a player for you to add if you would like.

Jerome Jameson - C
Strengths - One man wrecking crew on defense. Has a high motor for rebounding. NBA ready body.

Weaknesses - Struggles with even the simplest of offensive moves. Has no post game, no post moves. Struggles with Offensive understanding. Has no upside, what you see is what you get.

Jerome Jameson, seemingly taking a page out of Dwight Howard's defensive handbook will be a defensive force to be reckoned with. However, his immense struggles on the offensive side, will quite often make him a liability. Jerome's lack of potential has Scouts worried.
Late 1st, early 2 round pick.

Few more scout reports:

Rex Welch, C, New Mexico State

Strengths: Very strong space-eater who owns the paint with his outstanding size- 7'0, 270 lbs. Defensive presence with good athleticism, high upside prospect. Great on the boards.

Weaknesses: Still quite raw on the offensive end, needs to add some post moves and currently has no outside shot. Not quick enough to guard the perimeter. Looks lost basically anywhere on the floor that isn't the paint- including the low block.

Bottom line: Classic raw, defensive bigman prospect. He's not a huge boom-or-bust type, because his game's progressed to the point that he can have a huge impact even if he doesn't score. Top-6 pick.

Keon Ball, SG, Oregon

Strengths: Relentless attacker of the rim with good athleticism and high upside. He can hit a jumpshot and has all the tools to be an elite player. Good ballhandler.

Weaknesses: Still very raw, lacks elite size or strngth at 6'4, 212 lbs. Not a very good passer or defender.

Bottom line: Scouts are calling him the next D-Wade, but that's a lazy comparison. Ball is even more aggressive and nowhere near the defender Wade is. Top-7 pick.

Fingers crossed this thread takes off.

Re: Worm's fictional draft class- come check it out

6'8 210 Markus Williams - SF/PF/SG/PG
Strengths - Point Guard In A Big Mans Body, Has the athleticism and creativity at the rim that reminds remind people of Shawn Kemp in his prime. And his blocking ability To Block shots is unmatched coming out of college

Weaknesses - He Simply Cannot Handle The Post, If matched with an opponent with bigger weight he usually loses. he also struggles at the 3 and sometimes he gets to arrogant on the court which caused him to be ejected 16 times in his college career. and he fouls at least 2 a game.

Markus' offensive game has scouts drooling but his attitude and inability to bang in this post has them thinking bust but his efficiency on offense and creativity on offense will keep him in the draft. He also is unwilling to make the easy pass as he has always been flashy.
Bottom Lottery 1st, early 2 round pick.

That's cool, I'll include him.

Another scouting report:

Rodney Griffith, SG, FSU

Strengths: Athleticism, athleticism, athleticism. Can jump out of the gym, or run out of the gym. Also a decent ball handler.

Weaknesses: Low basketball IQ. Below average outside shot that will have to improve he wants to play SG at the next level. Bad on-ball and team defender.

Bottom line: Griffith his a boom or bust prospect with high upside who, right now, can only impress with his running and jumping. mid to late first rounder.

Another scout report

Jake Finley, SG, Gonzaga

Strengths: Lights out shooter from deep or mid-range. Very high basketball Iq. All-around solid player who can contribute right away.

Weaknesses: Average athlete, average ballhandler, average defender. Not very high upside.

Bottom line: Finley is a win-now pick who will look like a great draft pick at first, but maybe not so much later. Will be a solid role player, but not much more. But his ability to immediately contribute is making him an expected lottery pick.

This DC will be up on 2kshare soon, I've been testing and it works really good. I will continue to post scout reports if y'all are interested, so you can use the reports on here instead of the crappy scouting the game gives you.
