Simply release patches, roster updates, and paid dlc in between the titles, and I'm willing to bet each game would sell substantially more than the current ones do, as gamers could expect to see a tremendous amount of improvements every 2 years (meaning sales would at least average out to what they are now).
If this happened, companies such as 2k, would have to hire more personal. They wouldn't have the staff to work on the current game and develop the next game.

Also, games would be more expensive. They would need a way to make up for not releasing a game every year and the added workers to their company.

There's positives and negatives to everything.

How in the world do you successfully, simulate Javale McGee in a video game?

Doesn't sound real but thats exactly what happens when the entire Miami team turns around and goes back down court before Battier even shoots.

Sorry, no other way I could put it haha.

I don't doubt that this is a pre-alpha build. I don't think this video should have been released. However, I don't get how a pre-alpha video gets out and EA can't calm the masses a bit with a short glimpse of whatever it is they have now. It doesn't seem like they're nearly complete with the game either way.
I was thinking the same thing. If this is indeed pre-alpha then release a quick clip that proves it. A 15 second clip of an offense running a play would be enough if the current build is better than this. EA really has no reason to not release a video or something at this point. The longer they wait the worse things look for them.

EA needs to back up that statement they made saying its pre-alpha by showing some clips of the build now because right now their getting a lot of negative feedback on the game.

What's atrocious is your expectations. First, if someone were to sit and compare these games year over year, anyone with a discerning eye would notice that they make a noticeable jump in many aspects NOT related to pure tech. The games get better whether you want to acknowledge that or not. Second, sports titles have a 4-5 month play life. This isn't an FPS that isn't seasonal and can be played Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall. That creates a dead period for the fans of said sport. Which leads to the 3rd point - there is a CLEAR demand for things as they are. If YOU don't feel the need to buy them annually, I get that. I'm the same way for SOME games. But when it comes to the sports I'm passionate about, I want a fresh title for EACH of the fresh seasons. These games are not just roster updates. You can whine about it all you want, but they are not.
