Your gaming habits don't bother me at all. I just find it funny you always defend EA no matter what. You're a broken record around here.

You're always the first in line to defend Madden to the end yet you wind up buying the last gen version every year because you're obviously not satisfied.

I just think it's kind of ironic how you love to gloss over everyone else's issues with the next gen games just because you happen to play one way and they play another...what was your silly bathroom picturesque quote? Wasn't it: "playing games for what they are, rather than what they should be?"...

that doesn't work for many people (I personally take Madden for what it is-an average at best franchise) but it's like your gospel around here. Not everyone likes to play their games at default as you do and thing like DLC, CPU sliders are a big deal for some people. I was looking forward to CPU sliders to be honest. I thought they would have helped the gameplay a great deal for the way I like my football to play.

You sure do like to push your mantra on everyone who is critical.

You always got a band-aid -- "blah blah blah just buy a second controller for dummy profiles - everyone needs a second controller eventually..."

"blah blah blah just pick it up for PS2 if you want to play franchise...''

"blah blah blah...just do this, just do that"

"blah blah blah they'll just patch all the bugs - every game has bugs and glitches..."

I find it particularly funny and personally enjoy these forums because I get to stumble on your EA lovefest in the OS forums as I cruise around. It makes me smile. You're like EA's little silver lining around here. It's entertaining and cute.
Your opinions are your opinions and this is none of my business, but let me just say this on the general topic. I find it funny that you went into such depth to prove your point about the irony of CB as an EA apologist (at least in your view) but can't see the irony in your own post (or maybe you can, but choose to ignore it?). I also find it funny that so many people get so worked up over everything that comes from EA and go out of their way to complain about everything that comes from them. For all you say CB is repetative and defensive about, the same can even more easily be said for those who rerun the same complaints over and over in every thread. I would imagine (and this is just a guess) that CB posts so many seemingly "pro EA" because it stands out amongst all the blatent and childish hate. Maybe he's just not a negative guy? The "blah, blah, blahs" you reference are normally in what I believe is a sincere effort to help someone enjoy the game more. I thought that was one of the main point of these forums? I dunno...lol

I've seen him be critical of EA, but I'd agree he clearly likes the game overall. So what? You say it's cute to you that he has a so-called lovefest with EA. I find it cute that it bothers so many people. The fact is that for every post CB has that's "overly" positive, there are about 50 (that's underestimating too, IMO) that are rediculously negative. I'm sure this makes me an EA apologist or at least a countryboy apologist in your view, and that's fine. I honestly do get a kick out of how many people can't wait to call CB out for not hating the game.

a side note...and a bit more on topic...lol, I'd agree that it would have been nice to have the DLC (obviously) and it could have made the game better, but I seriously doubt it. I am one who was frustrated to see the CPU sliders go, but to be honest their effect was always minimal. Maybe it would have fixed "robo-QB," I dunno. The fact is though, that the DLC was never promised which is were I get off the bus on this EA blame tour. I just can't see getting so emotionally charged over something like "DLC that could've been", but maybe I'm just a loon.

Anyway...on with the crusade

"Yes this is very possible. All I know is Madden gets two. I'm not sure what logic MS and EA Corporate used to determine how many each game gets. All that stuff is handled during high-level negotiations with MS when EA signs on to be a developer for their platform.

Defend EA to no end? Ok. I'm pretty sure that I have been critical of Madden. Maybe its not well known because I don't plaster it in every single thread that is open. Maybe I should. And maybe my "positive posts" stand out here because there is so much negativity surrounding the board.

As far as me glossing over issues by stating, buy a second controller, buy the PS2, I mention those to try and help people out, nothing more. The biggest thing that people were missing from the DLC was the cpu sliders. All I was trying to do was try to help people out. But if you would actually read what I write instead of portions of it, you would've noticed that I talked about how a) the dummy profile system is no way excuses EA's bonehead move of removing sliders & b) how there are far greater issues with the game that sliders or DLC weren't going to fix. I guess you missed those two points as you were cruising around checking out what I write.

And I'm pushing my mantra? Yeah ok. I just point out what I see. I thought that was the purpose of this message board, everyone could state their opinions. But what I find ironic, is there are far greater people that push the negative opinion about Madden than those like me, that talk about the positives. All you have to do is read thru the forum.

And yes, I play games for what they instead of worrying about what they aren't. I guess you have no idea what that means. That means, that I play the game for what it is, bugs and all. Sometimes the bugs and glitches aren't bad enough that I can enjoy the game. Sometimes they are so horrendous out of the box that the game goes back. And sometimes, they start to wear on me to the point where I can't enjoy the game anymore. And thats whats happened the last two years of Madden. The little annoyances finally break my enjoyment for the game. What I don't do, is worry about whats not in the game. Why? Because call me crazy, but I'd rather focus on whats in the game and could make the game enjoyable rather than whats not in the game and dwell on it like some do. I know, what a silly concept.

So, I'm sorry that because I don't come onto the boards and slam Madden at every opportunity, that you somehow feel that I have nothing but postitive things to say, because that, my friend, couldn't be further from the truth. See, unless someone is completely slamming Madden on these boards, then they are considered fanboys. Maybe I am one, I don't know nor do I care. If thats what people want to label me, more power to them. But what I do know is that I am going to continue to voice my opinion as I see fit and if that bugs or annoys you, well then maybe you should put me on ignore.

So I'm the reason you keep coming back to the forums? I am the reason you enjoy the forums? And you say I'm cute and entertaining? I make you smile? *Slowly backs out of forum with hands covering behind*

Take care,

CB

I think NBA 2K9 looks good regardless of what shape Madden's in.

Re: Phil Frazier Says No 3rd Patch or DLC For Madden 09

Wow, the silence from EA on this subject is deafening.

In June (http://www.operationsports.com/forum...d-feature.html)
we were told about EA trying to get the accelerated clock into Madden (my primary interest in the DLC - remember, in June we didn't know that CPU sliders were out) and it took 4 months to get told that it's not coming. 4 months?

It's funny, I'm not even ticked. I don't really care, and apathy is much worse than anger.

My gaming time is way down right now with the baseball playoffs (go Phillies!!!) anyway, however in 7-10 days that will be over and I'll be back to gaming more often. Now I don't hate Madden 09, at least not as much as some here, so I guess I will try to play it some along with NCAA and NHL. I have a feeling NHL will wind up taking most of my time.

That said, I'm out for Madden 2010 until at least October and only if reviews are overwhelmingly positive.
