Major League Baseball 2K12 Video - Chris Snyder Interview, First Glimpses of Gameplay

If you were expecting a complete overhaul with 2K12, you had unrealistic expectations from the start. This late in a console generation, you're only going to see tweaks from what we've seen the past few years.

2K11 was a good foundation to build on. I'll still have to play the demo and see longer gameplay videos to convince me to buy this game as opposed to sticking with 2K11 for another year, but I am cautiously optimistic.

Tweaks are one thing, but man, I'd be going bonkers if I had to see that same "scrappy" batter walk-up animation over and over.

sorry... it was the only thing I read and it struck me as quirky. I'm only mildly interested in this game, but if it plays well, especially on the PC, I might give it a whirl.

The ball physics & ballpark dimensions look fantastic...I think. animations & player models...not so much. I sure hope the PS3 gets some love.

Let's get back to the topic.

Personally, no other series has disappointed me as much as this one has. I LOVED the ESPN MLB series and felt with a little more attention to it's animation bank would we see a great title.

I just really don't know what has happened to this series. It's almost as if the developers have mailed it in. Even with the small snippet of gameplay... nothing excites me about wanting to play the game. IMO, their focus on the little things is just a cop out for them. You can do that while addressing the concerns/problem areas at the same time.

Disappointing that this series may eventually fade away.

I hate to use the hockey reference again, but this is what happens when you change developers so often - and then expect them to use someone else's base.

If VC was given the job from the start, a lot of the issues that plague this series are gone.

Still, MLB2K11 has the best pitcher-hitter engagement of any baseball game I've played.
I used to detest the pitching aspect of most games, they bored me to tears.
But gesture pitching changed all that. Now I'm more excited to pitch than hit.
That alone makes me want to buy this game.
