It doesn't seem like they're nearly complete with the game either way.
Please change that "released", to "leaked". That's a major difference. EA can't control the masses in this situation because they may not be able to show anything that would do such a thing. And the term "pre-alpha" just needs to go. I think people need to accept the fact that this is likely a June build. Making it PRETTY indicative of what the final version may look like..

Thats exactly what happened with Elite, but some people stayed in that early build mindstate until the demo came out and saw for themselves

This is no where near a final version! They still have plenty of time until Oct to fix the animation and physics issues.

I think they have a good base to go with. Graphics look fine to me. The atmosphere is great. Good commentary. Signature shots and the Live control scheme.

Is it improved from live 10?...no not based on that vid and in the end, the final version will probably be on par with 10.. just not a great improvement.

Man that bland monotone broken unconnected commentary does not sound good

I wish guys would stop coming on here lying to EA about their game... and their graphics leave much to be desired.

I believe based on people with more inside knowledge and past experience that its closer to final than some buzzword thrown around here... this is almost the exact repeat cycle when Elite was being lauded

Yeah, the only reason that people say the commentary sounds good is because of breen and van gundy who people actually hear in real NBA games. The lines are generic and don't offer anything to the game.

I'm all for Live making a big comeback. I would love to see the bar raised both for EA and the NBA gaming market but I got to admit I'm shocked to see people defending this footage. I know they're going to be loyalist in almost all walks of life but I would think even the most loyal gamer would at least reconcile the reality of what those 11 or so minutes showed us.

The footage doesn't look built from the ground up. It has the proverbial "Live" or EA personality all over it. So even with an early build I would have expected certain nuances of the game to be present. EA would have been better off just denying that the game was even theirs. Claiming "fan made" would have gone over a lot better.

Looks like this development team has problems that go much deeper than just a bad game. Here's to hoping for huge leaps and bounds over the next couple of months.
