Dan Carpenter hit 25/28 of his field goals last year, including 8/9 from 40-49 yards out.

Where's the love?

I'm definitely dropping all of those 99's though. 99 is ridiculous. Might not make a difference, but I hate seeing it.

# 62 Redskinsfan26 @ 06/22/10 12:52 PM
i think mcnabb is better than shaub, but im very happy to see London Fletchers name in the top 5 for MLB with a 91! he is very underated a should be a pro bowler every year...

I think the ratings as they are done now are antiquated, so I've never gotten too bent out of shape about them.

But I'd like to see deeper into the ratings instead of the overalls like THP/THA, ACC, Run/Pass Blocking footwork/strength, Agility, Trucking, Block Shed, Power/Finesse Moves, Man/Zone Coverage, etc. Those tell me more about my teams strengths and weaknesses and how I want to match up and scheme against an opponent than an overall rating.

# 64 Unforgiven @ 06/22/10 12:55 PM
1st of all, I think they should decrease EVERYONE's ratings 5 points.

2nd of all, Brian Leonard is an 85 and Yeremiah Bell isn't even an 84? Wtf? Bell had to do EVERYTHING for this defense. Leonard was only good because the talent in his defense allowed him to be good. Just like at Baltimore.

If Donny is going to bloat the Jets player's ratings, at least bloat the right people. Boost up Jenkins or something. Not .. Jim Leonard.

And that knock (accusations only, not even charged or arrested for anything) has absolutely nothing to do with his physical attributes. Look at Michael Irvin, who had way more and worse legal woes... still a HOFer. Ratings shouldn't just be a popularity contest.

# 67 PantherBeast_OS @ 06/22/10 01:54 PM
Haha Panthers have 6 guys on this list. I can live with that since panthers overall is 75 right now when the game comes out in august.

# 68 wrightnreyes @ 06/22/10 01:57 PM
last year madden made an effort to space out ratings. this way the elite players were significantly better. i thought it was a great idea. then as the season went on everyone got major ratings boosts and under performers didn't get enough of a ratings hit to balance it out.

as for the jets being overrated, where? which player shouldn't be rated high that is?

Ok there was that one time lol. You know what I mean Coog, tell me you arent disappointed with him. I never liked the pick up in the first place. Most of those yards are Andre Johnson and Owen Daniels, and strength of schedule more than Schaub, and thats when hes not on IR.

Really Dallas Clark isnt atleast #2 tight end??? And because Bob Sanders has been hurt he's not even in the 90"s??? I know im a bit bias but come on, does no one else agree???

He is easily a top 2 or 3 FS in the NFL, he needs to be a 96 at least.I supose they didn't increase his speed to 95 where it should be, from the laughable 89 it was last year. These ratings are a joke.
Nick collins is not 95 worthy in speed the man is fast but not elite fast. All the ratings are too high I say maybe 3-4 90's at each position.
What makes nick Collins fast is his acceleration dude has a instant switch he needs to be somewhere he is there quick, But not elite quick. I say 92 tops and thats pushing it, im thinkin 90 SPD, 91 AGI 97 ACC

# 72 King Gro23 @ 06/22/10 02:20 PM
I will have fun editing the rosters to be based by last two years performances in the NFL. I think it will be fun, and the ratings will be drastically lower were talking QB's with the starting job at 71 OVR & HB's with starting jobs at 79 OVR ..etc

# 73 Megatron2k7 @ 06/22/10 02:43 PM
The Nick Collins argument has been long going...... and with a ton of 40 times, videos, real game play footage, etc... etc........... to prove he deserves a 93 + speed rating. Collins runs low 4.3's in the 40 and has an unofficial pro day best time of 4.28 sec.

Collins caught Percy Harvin from behind on numerous occasions last year.... I guess Donny must have just thought Percy was having another migrane headache those days........ lol.....

Now Atlanta Falcon Back up FS Giordano was on the Packers roster last year.... and he still has his 91 speed rating..... and at no time during anything I witnessed during last season, was he even close to Collins in the speed department.

One last thought...... I will never say that Patrick Willis isn't a complete beast and the best or one of the best at his position in the league........ but 90 speed for a ILB......???.......... Really........?/?.............. That makes him faster than Nick Collins then....... Wow........ LMAO 1

Ridiculous.

# 74 Megatron2k7 @ 06/22/10 03:15 PM
Hey... lets not make this turn into a Packers vs Vikings pissing contest.

No one was asking for Harvin's speed rating to drop..... we were just using him as an example because he has such a high speed rating in the game.

Nick Collins is definitely faster than Ed Reed... yet Reed still gets a 93 speed rating..... and Polumalu has a 92 speed. I'm not saying Collins is a better player than those two.... but it seems like Donny Moore exaggerates the speed ratings unrealistically on many of the great players just to make them "stand out" and be dominate players within the video game.

If we had a better game engine, speed wouldn't have to be exaggerated on top tier players just to make them great in the game......... sad really..... really sad.

# 75 treee @ 06/22/10 03:26 PM
LMAO. Cedric Benson was 8th in rushing in the leauge and he MISSED 3 GAMES. And he had 160 yards rushing against the leauges top defense in the jets IN THE PLAYOFFS. I believe that warrants a top 10 rating in running backs, doesn't anyone else?

# 76 im_noob @ 06/22/10 03:28 PM
Ben should be a 90 at least. He's better, or at least as good as, Romo and Schaub. I wonder what Wallace's speed rating will be hopefully at least 95.

Can't complain too much about the ratings though, some great defensive players

Smith - 87
Hampton - 91
Woodley - 91
Harrison - 97
Polamalu - 97

Taylor has 95 speed as well. Nice d

I think they should scale the ratings back more though like some of EA's other games, make like 93-95 the highest. And keep them scaled like last year.

Your comment is laughable, which is exact what I did. Willis is the best MLB in the league. Beason is good but not as good as Willis.

Patrick Willis is ridiculously fast. He runs in the 4.3s... I think 4.37 or somewhere in there. He didn't just have an 86 yard INT return TD a couple years ago because of luck. The guy is fast and deserves a 90 speed. That being said, Collins is faster than an 87 for sure.

Regardless, had he not have missed a game against the RAIDERS, as well as the other 2, he would easily have been in the top 5 in rushing. And I do not care what anyone says, when he got 160 yards against the Jets in playoffs when THEY KNEW ALL WE HAD WAS CED, then that is a premier running back performance.
