What you said about the change in the dev team is, somewhat true, but that is not the case now. For the most part, EA Sports has had the same dev team that started on NBA Elite, continue working on NBA Elite for almost three years straight. That is unheard of, and plenty of time for EA Sports to revive their basketball game. According to the guys @ E3, Madden has made a complete overhaul in one development cycle, what do you think can happen in three dev cycles w/o any interruptions.
can't say this about the madden team though

Man, Im still hooked on 2K11, this 2K12 news is already getting me pump. Im praying as far as presentation that in the halftime show, the game will show dynamic highlights from other games going on around the league or highlights from the games that took place the night before. Im glad to hear that the presentation is being pushed even further. Now if they announce that 2K12 will have a new roster update system other than the 2K Insider, I will really be a happy camper.

If not at half time then some point during the season.... like when they say Kobe Bryant and the Lakers visit LeBron James and the Heats they could show some highlights there....either way or anywhere they would add more highlights would be fine with me, where ever they put it (if they) in.
As for the whole free throw change....I'm pretty sure they will still have the "old" way of doing it in but as an option, but as a second option and use the "new" way to kind of try and make us like it then for 2k13 get rid of the old way all together, similar to how they did they did away with the older free throw mechanic they use to have.

Moe I believe that is a trick used to keep the in game resolution and graphical quality as high as can be by lowering the resolution/quality of the players not actually involved in the game.

Well they better improve the trick...at least make it more believable to the eyes, like a good magician

So I'm all for them trying out new things in aspects of the game that have been there for a while.

Plus, I don't think you understand how much pressure must be on them after producing a game that was widely considered the best SPORTS GAME (not basketball game) of All-Time. Now they have to produce a game in a year with no immediate competition for motivation AND the world's largest video game publisher returns in 2012 after having essentially 3 years to work on a game uninterrupted ( I don't even count the NBA Elite release).

Its lonely at the top, huh 2k?

2K11 is the best sports game of all time. Hence it will give me enjoyment for many more years.

So glad they knocked it out of the park.

See you guys when 2K14 comes out. That is probably when I will get curious again. That is how good 2K11 is.

You have a good, insightful point.

I'm sure it is, what would be your argument...I mean, how could you count out a basketball game that has been under development for 3 yrs by EA Sports (who once upon a time, put out some pretty decent basketball games). I never said that NBA Elite would come back next year and crush NBA 2k13, I'm just not a fanboy who can't see what EA Sports could do with 3 yrs of non stop development. All I'm saying is that EA Sports could start actually competing with 2K Sports in the basketball department again (like the good ol' days)...period

And to your comment, i heard about that before but can that not be fixed? is it possible they can fix it and fixed it for nba 2k12?
Stop it moe I'm just a legend in my own mind LOL. If I'm right its not so much a fix but a limitation of resources. Sort of robbing peter to pay paul if you will. I guess they can try to do that on some other area of the game that might be less noticeable. But their engineers are some smart dudes so I'm sure they thought of that already. I've been wrong before though.

If so, then why cant everyone make it on those blu ray discs..haha
But none the less im sure nba 2k12 will be a GREAT game
Nah it's not the space on the disc. It's the hardware.

Regarding the FT system... it's still a work in progress and nothing is set in stone. But to echo what someone mentioned earlier, the main issue with the current system is that success or failure is far too dependent on memorizing animations rather than the real life skill of the shooter. Yes it's true that it rewards users who stick to one team and master everyone's releases. But not everybody chooses to play that way.

That he had to stay mum on anything about who was gonna be on the cover or anything like Jordan mode makes me tickle my chin hairs. 2K's got something up their sleeves me thinks. Perhaps a certain other MJ getting his day in the light of lime? Hmm...

Either way. Man, these new presentation features...really makes you wanna see 'em in action. But its too early for that I fear.

2k12 this early in the cycle u know am gonna jump on this train alright.

like most of us on here i too play basketball in a league here in central america(and yes we do speak english in belize).i pride my self as a great FT shooter averaging over 85% from the line.why do i pride my self u may ask....answer FT are never constant even though u stand alone at the line undefended, the variables of each FT varies a lot and some of em r

1. fatigue or being tired
2. pressure i.e dependency to make to win or tie, crowd noise, having a timeout just before shooting one or being fouled real hard before shooting FT
3.confidence i.e being a SG in my league playing against good defenders and or shooting poorly from the field sometimes carry over to the FT line and u need more focus
and just for a bit more info based on my experience, the first FT of the two or three is always harder to make the follow up FT u can add adjustments to if so be the case if u missed the first.

so all in all what i am saying is nba 2k12 dev VC team have their hands full trying to mimic such a difficult game. so IMO they should not change the FT in nba 2k at this point but add factors that affect FT% at certain points in time in a game

-like mentioned above first free throws should be harder.
-after hard fouls FT should be harder
-pressure FT should be harder
-players shooting FT that are tired should be harder
and how can they do this u ask? by making perfect release sometimes earlier or longer so player have to be focus and pay more attention to get timing right adding pressure to human elements as well to get realistic misses.now all of a sudden the shake the screen FT distraction can have its effect again like back in the day dreamcast squeezing triggers FT mini game.
sorry for being so lengthy guys but am so darn passionate about basketball and nba 2k series.....been aboard from dreamcast days and havent look back yet i have converted sooo many pll to the greatness of NBA 2k here is to take two for being such great publishers and her is to VC for being the best @ what they do

It was to simulate the camera shake when watching from home - has nothing to do with the player shaking or getting blurred vision.

You're playing the game from a 3rd person POV, not 1st person.

Oh! Good call. Why didn't I think of this? That would be that business!...and a great follow up.
