In NHL 16, you will have the ability to edit players from all 10 professional hockey leagues featured in-game. From there you can edit a players General Information, Appearance, Equipment, or Attributes. This feature is available in the NHL 16 main menu, Be a GM, Season and Playoff mode.
Nice. This, along with ability to play AHL games in GM Mode, make it likely I'll buy this game again after a year break.
I'm right there with you, if there were any doubt in my mind this alleviated it. I'm still a bit weary of EASHL, as I loved it's RPG feel and trying to make your gut better, especially in regular OTP games, which have been taken away too. But I'm willing to give it a try, and if I hate it, I'll stick to franchise.
This really is great news BUT am I going to be able to edit a players potential? The video I saw they didn't touch it. So can anyone confirm or deny this?
Wow, seriously was not expecting this, and have to give them props for actually listening.
Obviously there's a million other things that need to be addressed as well, but this is far better than constant ignorance and dropping a half baked product on everyone again like NHL 15.
Now that's great news. For many reasons. One of which is should prevent the "without player editing I'm not buying it" theme from re-occurring over and over and over.
Pretty awesome it's in though. I can't believe it took them so long to announce it really. Knowing how bad everyone wanted it, they should have announced it first. Or maybe they just managed to get it in.

I would assume you would be able to. I think it goes without saying.
I am happy as well for those that really wanted this simple, big will, and I think canaaks sorry about the spelling fellas. What's left is hopefully for me more penalties are called. For the first time when I play offline NHL 16 I will play wth 20 min periods for a season it has really annoid me with the series for the lack of penalties that are called but I am real excited this year and again NHL 16 is what 15 should of been but a very nice base has been built and I think each year we will get the holy grail of a near perfect NHL experience. Just in time for my Detroit RedWings to open there new stadium in 2017. 😁
This was some of the best news I have read today. I was really starting to doubt whether or not EA was going to include it in this year and I am very pleased to learn that they are. This will only make the game better considering the other improvements they've listed sound pretty good but like any game there's always room for improvement but the big takeaway from this is that progress has been made, baby steps forward
Funny, I'm not reading any apologies from those usual suspects.
What is there to apologize for? Sorry people wanted a feature that helps the game not suck put back into the game. Sorry that they expected EA to do what they've done for the past few years and say "Oh, we're working on that" or "Maybe we'll get that next year".
Don't get me wrong, I'm glad they put this in, as it makes the game a bit more attractive, but there's certainly a lot of work to be done still to get a lot of people back on board.

You murdered my s/n....its canucksss ... LOL. Anyhow, I believe OS community is asking for this, and maybe there's only a handful who are very vocal about it. But as a community and NHL fans, this is big for us.
I remember in 11, there was a penalty issue, wherein 1-2 per game in BaGM. And in 13, at first it was like 11 with lack of penalties being called but after the 1st patch/tuner penalties are back. So yea, I am hoping that lack of penalties will not be an issue in 16.
I know some might be irritated with me, but I hope Neutral Zone pressure will be there, because this is one of the issues that really bothers me, esp. when playoffs starts.
Now we need someone to crack the save files so they can be transferred offline like we currently do for ps3 and 360.
Psyched that EA listened and player edit is back. Now if Revamped Team makes a dynamite set, how do we get them on our systems?
One step at a time I know. I'm patient. I'm patient....
I remember for PS3 before PS4 was around that you had to create a folder on a USB drive and then name it NHL I believe and ten there was a certain name to give to the roster file and if you did it correctly it would just appear on your PS3 files. I know this is vague but it's what I remembered from memory but for current gen I'm not sure how the process would work

It would be really nice if they could just at the very least make it as easy as saving a roster to a flashdrive on your system.
The workarounds can be frustrating. I doubt they're going to throw in a real online roster vault and sharing type thing, but just making it so that people can upload raw roster files, then you could just throw it on a flashdrive, turn on the game, and select to load that roster would be an awesome improvement.
