In NHL 16, you will have the ability to edit players from all 10 professional hockey leagues featured in-game. From there you can edit a players General Information, Appearance, Equipment, or Attributes. This feature is available in the NHL 16 main menu, Be a GM, Season and Playoff mode.
Really good news! I'm wondering how appearance and equipment could differ, given that equipment used to be the only visible changes we could make on players. This can be really good stuff.
I'm the first to go hard on EA hockey marketing and dev team, but so far with the way they handle the news and listen to people, things look intriguing.
If they go out with a good NHL 16, I'll be the one to give them kudos and buy the game.
We'll see in september what it's look like when final product is in.
What I'm really happy about is that it looks like they opened up more control to us with the ability to edit appearance and personal info. If I can change heights and weights, adjust contracts and change positions that's great. If I can change the faces on generic players to make them look more like themselves, that's huge.
And the fact that we may be able to do this in GM mode as well is even better. I'm not getting my hopes up about GM mode as the options may be more limited there, as in just equipment and just for players on your own team, but if they allow complete control so that you can, for example, bump up the rating of a rookie on a different team that recently got called up in real life without having to start a new GM, that would be phenomenal.
Nice. Now i just hope we can edit strategies for all teams before strarting a Be a GM, the strategies made a good difference last year but the impossibility to edit them and save made it quite useless...

I am with you on this, I criticize EA heavily because of their strategies in making this game. THey have all the potential to make this a great game since its the only game in the market, just like how SCEA produce their MLB-TS.
But still skeptical how this editing plus the new area they are improving will play at the final product.

THIS! I've been calling this for quite sometime. I HOPE with the roster edit, and EA's adjustment in defense could really bring the BIG difference in the Intensity of the game and have more Neutral Zone pressure that we'll be forced to dump the puck.
I have a sneaking suspision that so little was put into NHL 15 was because they were also working on NHL16 simultainously. If that is the case, it just confirms what I've been saying for a number of years that these games should be released on a two year cycle instead of a yearly basis. I know its a corporate decision but they could just put out a few downloadable updates for like $20 a pop in the off year. I think we all know NHL15 was just just NHL14 with a facelift...as in new announcers which while a nice addition is not enough to spend another $60 on. It sounds like they are doing some things this year...things that require a longer time frame to accomplish. Let's hope they do it right.
I am not kidding when I say I was not going to buy the game unless it was in there. Really glad to hear we can edit in the season modes - I hate having to restart my BeAGM all the time b/c players break out or decline or whatever. And now if you don't like the way EA does potential and player growth and decline you can go in and make it exactly what you want so you can enjoy YOUR game YOUR way. Can't wait! I'm officially excited!!! Good job EA develoment team and thank you! Take my money!
