NBA 2K16 Hands-On Preview

Wow.

That three-letter word sums up my quick trip to the 2K Hangar to get my hands on NBA 2K16.

Before I get into the nitty-gritty, this article will strictly be about on-court gameplay. MyCAREER information will be coming out on Monday, and you’ll find it here on Operation Sports. Also on Monday you will see some gameplay footage (at last!) from some of your favorite NBA teams.

Okay with that information out of the way, let's play basketball.

most questions are answered on his twitter, he says the crowd hom reaction is much better and that anthony fits in well with the commentary

His answer about halftime was very vague tbh and definitely doesn't align with what we saw in the trailer yesterday. Unless they've taken them out for quick games or the build they played didn't have the studio show, there's no way halftime was almost exactly like last year as last year there was no halftime anything lol. It was like 5 screens with stats and music playing, that was it.

Would suck if the halftime presentation we saw is only for Playoff games.

Kinda was expecting a deeper dive into the tic toc of what was the game like, but got a superficial impression......nonetheless some new info he mentioned will have to suffice like the substitution on the right analog stick and the player intro for both home and away teams

The best center in the game not touching the ball to let Gay chuck it up sounds like a typical roster tendency issue.

Idk, 2k has NEVER restricted core presentation elements from quick games. Something like halftime doesn't strike me as a playoff only type of thing. If it is playoffs only for the studio crew to pop up, I'd hope they at least have a voiceover with highlights for some random "season" or quick games.

Gameplay video on Monday? Guess that means they do keep track of what's going on with the other game. Can't be coincidence that 2k chooses the day before...

Yeah I was expecting some deeper impressions. It's good to hear that the improvements made make a difference but this sounded more like game recaps than gameplay impressions.

Oh well gameplay Monday so hopefully will be able to at least see the effects the improvements make on the game.

Good point, guess it would add extra importance to those type of games, but if the regular season games have a generic halftime show like last years then that would still suck IMO.

Man if Memphis is like that then I can only imagine how it will be like once people get their hands on this baby and get these sliders tightened up. The playoffs will actually feel like the playoffs this year. Shutting down KD sounds great.

Finally playing defensive teams will be fun again.

Thanks for the write up but nothing was said that was new. I mean the write up was just explaining strategy. Everything said could have maybe been said about 2k15 or any sports game for that matter.

Bullet points were nice though.
