NBA 2K17 News Post


NBA 2K17 patch 1.07 is available now for PlayStation 4 and soon for Xbox One. The patch notes have not been released, but this post will get updated when they arrive.

Until then, let us know what you're seeing.

UPDATE #3: (12-14) The patch is available now for Xbox One.

GENERAL
  • Support for the NBA 2K17 European All-Star Tournament as well as the forthcoming NBA 2K17 All-Star Tournament.
  • Performance increase for users playing in the Old Town, Sunset Beach, and Ante-Up parks.
  • Reduced the effectiveness of shooting after excessive dribbling to achieve better game balance.

I have user body up sensitivity at 0, CPU on ball D at 30. This is the right balance for me. Below is an example. Get Olynik on the switch. He gaps me, but I nail my input and blow by him.

I think lowering the body up sensitivity for the user is key.

I haven't touched this game in over a month. Pretty much gave up on it and moved on. Have any of the recent patches fixed the fast breaks? The CPU would always catch up and bump into me to stop my momentum and no fouls were called.

It was semi better after patch 6, but after patch 7, it seems to be back to the way it was previous. I know they said only shooting was touched, but the AI on ball defense is once again OP, and fast breaks for the HUM seem to be nerfed.

They've tinkered with this game and it's mechanics so much this year, I can't even recognize the game that came out months ago before the patches. 2K17 is in my 2K hall of shame with 2K4, 2K10 and a few other duds. I really hope they bring it for 2K18, but it's not promising.

After Patch 1.07 there's a problem with the jersey and i was playing offline thru myleague. Don't know why the CPU pick the same color jersey as the away team. Seems there's a glitch?

Huh. The CPU picks random jerseys for me. Some games they'll have an alternate or a throwback on already when I go to the cpu side to select their jersey. Pretty cool

That's a shame. I really wish that I hadn't gone digital this year. Could've at least traded it in or sold it. They're going to have to work really hard on 2K18, or I have a feeling they'll be losing a lot of loyal customers.

i was really hoping they would address the fatigue issue and the steal back flip screen animation that happens....

anyone else also tired of cpu being able to throw full court passes on the money in myteam???

I been saying this since day one .if you alter certain sliders , it has a butterfly effect on the whole game. For instance , if your happy with the player movement, then go and raise your shooting sliders up on the user side and wAtch how it changes player movement . Now how would something like shooting effect the speed and acceleration of players. Well , it does . This goes for a number of other sliders that have the same effect on other attributes.

With that said you can be sure that the patch def effected the dynamics of this game. 2k and even EA. Should at least give us the option to remove individual patches.

For me the main problem was the 1st past transition would lead to the stuck in mud reception animation. *** receptions now can trigger a transition.

Actaully i beg to differ on this opinion Dirk.....

Its not body up sensitivity slider...i think that body up just determines how sensitive it is for a foul being called hence the reason why its goes higher on cpu the lower the difficulty is set and lower for the user....so unless u want more collsions fouls on the perimeter being called i suggest u leave it at 45 which is default for AS and HOF difficulties

What u want to adjust is the driving contact shot frequency under the defense sliders for the CPU to a lower settings....recommendation to u would be start this at zero and u will notice more hip riding animation that bump back animation cause the collisions are minimized

And dont take this the wrong way bro its a respectly disagreement...and an open invitation dicussion

Ps this is perfect for guys who play against other users in couch co-op as it forces more on ball defense as its much easier to blow pass CPU with mismatches on the peremeter and froce a rotation..so users are inclined to participate as the onvall defender and sagging respect is given quick guards

Sweet, Ill give it a try.

I havent messed with that slider this year. The CPU on ball D has felt really balanced for me since I adjusted ther body up slider in week 2, so Ive just left it there.

Just had an example.

I think speed differences need to be greater, but the main problem was the 1st pass would almost stop the reciever. Patch 6 made these passes much better. Below is an example.

Im XB1, I dont know if I have patch 7 so can't comment if it nerfed FBs. Hopefully not.

@ dirk yea i have it digitally on xbox one as it os my preferred console...but since i got the ps4 pro pretty much for this game...i mist say that the games seems a bit more optimise and smoother compared to xb1 version.... but not to worry this new patch seems to not do anything gameplay wise....but like i said try it out and give me ur feedback

The short answer no.

If you are talking wide open rare type fastbreaks no, to many animation issues and cpu auto catch up stuff there. 3pt shooting fastbreak have always been there rather you like them or not(i hate every player does it though).

Ace is getting better but its still the same game. No drastic changes yet.

12/9/16 - Rest In Power Sharpshooters - They now need 10 feet of space to get a good grade. Guess a hall of fame deadeye and a 94 contested 3 means absolutely nothing anymore.

I think sometimes people jump to conclusions. I'm strictly an offline myleague player and the first post patch game I played a smashed the Thunder 145-98 with the Pistons. I was contemplating changing all my sliders, moving up to HOF, etc.

But I played a 2nd game. Lost 112-108 to the Knicks and just like that I was brought down to earth. Probably placebo but my AI offenseive guys seem to be spacing the floor better and making better decisions on off ball movement. And (again this is just 2 games) the bigs didn't get behind my D nearly as much as before the new patch.

I can honestly say I see and feel very little if any difference with this last patch. Anyone who says it ruined the game is full of it.
