  • New hairstyles made it into the game (Shown in the new AA locker room).
  • Road to The Show will feature a new non-linear decision making system, which will allow you to make big decisions that matter.
  • More player and team specific personality will be included in this year's game.
  • Spin of the ball off of the bat has been greatly improved with new hit types like curving hits down the line.
  • Four new Historical Stadiums are included in the game. (Old Yankee Stadium, Hubert H. Humphry Metrodome, Shea Stadium, Sun Life Stadium) - Nice detective work 13SM13!
  • All batter walkups in Diamond Dynasty will show the player card types on screen.
  • Show Track allows for some new presentational elements in this year's game.
  • More player specific home run swings.
  • Both Ken Griffey Jr. and Ken Griffey Sr. will be on the legends roster for MLB The Show 17.

As a matter of fact I believe all ballparks must have the same orientation/position because of the way the sun sets every evening. I'm a Marlins fan and I'm like 99% sure I read that when Marlins Park was being built. I can't remember what the set position was, like which direction it had to face, but I'm pretty sure it had to be a certain way. Can anyone confirm this? I wanna say the batter has to be facing south east ?

Many classic ballparks faced west-to-east from home plate to center field. Many modern ballparks now have the sun fall behind the third base dugout. The new Twins stadium has the sun fall behind the first base dugout, or at least those whereabouts.

We could look them up on Google Earth and check their respective orientations, but of course they are all in different latitudes so the sun won't fall consistently with all of them even if they face the same direction.

Oh ok well maybe they're not all the same orientation but I read that in relation to the setting of the sun all ballparks must be the same. I could be wrong but again pretty sure that's what I read.

There is a rule on ballpark orientation, I think it is rule 1.03 or 1.04. I think the parks are supposed to be setup where a direct line from home plate across the mound and into centerfield runs northeast. Although I don't think it is enforced.

# 185 Caulfield @ 01/28/17 06:10 PM
1.04 seems to be a suggestion more than rule as it states "It is desirable that the line that runs from home to the pitchers plate to second base run east-northeast'.
I got this from Hardball Times showing the relation of that line of all 30 stadiums to that east-northeast direction.

How many here would rather have a Ken Griffey presentation then MLB Network presentation? lol

Russell did already say Ken Griffey will make comments during gameplay in retro mode. But does that qualify as a new presentation? I sure hope not!

I'm sure those interested in retro mode (DD as well) would prefer it.

Ramone should totally "like" this post just to stir the pot.

I would imagine what we saw in the trailer is just that, I don't think Griffey making a few comments in retro mode would constitute as a new presentation package

He'd make a few comments in his N64 game. "That ball was crushed." Stuff like that.

I forgot that Dave Niehaus also had some commentary in that game. "Get out the rye and mustard, Grandma! It's grand salami time! My oh my!"

Omg please take me back in time to this. That video also reminds me of MVP 05's awesome soundtrack. Hey does anyone remember one of the All Star Baseball games that had "future ballparks"? Like they predicted what future ballparks would look like for some teams. I'm a Marlins fan so I rememeber the Marlins having a future ballpark and I remember thinking about it when Marlins Park opened and I got to play it in The Show 12. Anyone remember which All Star Baseball had it? I wonder if theres video of that.

All Star Baseball 2004 and 2005 had it.

Their future ballparks were based off actual stadium proposals.

Here are some drawings and models of those parks that you also see in that game.

New York Yankees

Oakland Athletics

Minnesota Twins

Florida Marlins

St. Louis Cardinals (one that actually went through)

New York Mets

Montreal Expos

Boston Red Sox

ASB 2004 also had PETCO and CBP as future stadiums, and then when they opened in 2005 they were listed as "current."

Amazing how revolutionary this game was.

Strangely enough, I actually used to draw baseball stadiums as a hobby back in high school. I made one that was eerily similar to the Marlins one that's there, it was such a striking coincidence how closely some features related! Though it was a hybrid stadium with football. I also did a Mets one. They are lying around somewhere. I gotta find them.

Checked video on YouTube of both all star baseball 04 and 05 and the only ballpark I can't find footage of is that marlins one, which is the very one I want to look back on. But 05 does have a fictional ballpark for an unnamed team that has the same features as the future marlins ballpark above. It's like if they had the Marlins ballpark in a previous game but converted it to a generic ballpark in the 2005 game. How weird

It's that one, then. Don't know why it's in the fictional ballparks section. Maybe they already removed their name from it and leased the patent to it or however it is property designs/ownership works.

They been talking about wanting better player models for years. Maybe in the new system. The game looks good. Hopefully the ball physics will blow new life in the game for me.

Right but I rememeber playing in it as a kid so where is it that it's as the Marlins stadium? The video I saw is from the game itself so it's gotta be somewhere I imagine. There's no way they went back and removed their name from it in a copy of the game from 2004 or 2005.
