  • Improvements to double team logic for more appropriate rotations and to prevent help defenders from leaving their assignments.
  • Enhanced several dribble size-up combos to make them more responsive when chaining moves together.
  • Improved logic for off-ball collisions to prevent excessive bumping, resulting in a smoother offensive flow.
  • Removed select dribbler collision reactions that would slow down the ball handler when contact was made from behind.
  • Offensive AI enhancements for better decision making when countering double teams.
  • Fixed an issue that would allow you to travel if rapidly chaining together certain rhythm dribble animations.
  • Fixed an issue that was preventing some players from signing a 10-day contract in MyGM/MyLEAGUE.

I wouldn't mind it being lowered slightly and sticking there (I am up to 65% from 3 w/ a 72 3 rating) because Glass Cleaners and etc shouldn't be knock down 3PT shooters. But I wouldn't mind it just being left alone either.

I hate when he does it because there never seems to be a middle ground. It always seems like it's an extreme in one direction or the other. Either we're cashing out, or we're shooting like this:

I played 5+ walk on games with my 6ft6 Playmaker

The game feels clean. I can feel the positive difference with the collision effects on ball for ball handlers. I'm no longer constantly getting stuck in those ridiculous loose ball animations - it's definitely calmed down and you can react more cooly as a playmaker.

I haven't noticed any solid difference defensively on the ball.

yea, I really like it. Great day to be a post scorer. I can see bigs getting nerfed maybe... but on the other hand, I rarely see bigs who play big like I do.

I've always played kind of toward the rim as a big on 2k. I post, I do fakes and all, but in the end I finish toward the rim. Unfortunately, before this patch, that would almost always end in a contact animation and miss. I had to keep telling myself... "Shoot the hook."

Now, I can go back to playing as I used to, and it's pretty great. Everything feels good, maybe it'll need to be toned down, but I like the idea that bigs catching the ball inside are threats. I like that you can make 'toward the basket' pumps and feints and not have the ball squirt out of your hands.

The computer did 5 consecutive plays of reaching in on me posting up, though, and gave me a bunch of FTs. Their reach in logic on post ups might need to be looked at, unless they were just hacking me cuz I put 50 on them.

This is on Hall of Fame

EDIT: Another

One more EDIT: Wanted to test it with a big on a non elite small

This pretty much all I've been doing, since this aspect of the game was a big deal for me- it's still not as good as I would like it- but it's definitely improved- I haven't really even been playing the game to see other improvements, lol....Looking forward to fully diving in tommorow.

I played a lot of walkons, park and one pro am team game yesterday. I just could not stop playing.
Our main point guard was a bit disappointed with the patch, because his main dribble in pro am always was normal 5 rhytm spam. But to me its just great! good job 2k! Unfortunately people already found a way to SPAM the rhytm again, but a bit more complicated then it was.

Rest feels just smooth and fluid, I loved playing my playmaker and my sharp yesterday. Could not test my post scorer, but I guess the changes will be positive for bigs also!
I just don't get how 2k could do the mistake of making this smoothness and fluidity into clunky feel the whole year. And all of a sudden they patch it back fluid.
Why do you do this to us guys!? I loved playing playmaker when the game came out. But then it got worse and worse to a point where you either are a dribble spammer or have no fun dribbling at all. Now my 6'9 sharp feels so fluid like my playmaker felt before patch...

Now its just so great. Responsive, fluid, good reactions. Less BUMPING everywhere. Good job so far for me!

Can't wait to hop in today and look out for the shooting tweak, I hope there will be the same quality seen as it is with the rest I see so far.
A little hit on limitless, a big hit in % in general on open shots for low rated shooters and also a hit in
% for us playmakers and shotcreators.
And maybe deadeye badge a bit more forgiving to let the sharpshooter and shotcreator stand out a bit more on shooting when its a very light contest.

Just waiting for the patch to finish downloading

Played a couple of offline games on Superstar. As far as FEELING goes, the game feels waaaayyyyy better to me. Not sure if it's placebo, but the game is actually playable for me. I'm feeling more control while dribbling the ball and I'm not getting sucked into animations, offense or defense. Before, there would always be about 4 or 5 times during a game where I'd want to throw my controller due to the CPU deciding to make my player to something stupid. Hasn't happened so far, and that's good news for me. This latest patch has me optimistic for 2K18, if this is the direction they're going. Not perfect, but definitely a step in the right direction. Great patch, imo.

i havent played yet, but it seems like the patch is so positive, if it is doing ok, please don't patch it anymore, just let it be how it is, or else things will get screw up again

It is just me or the gameplay is better with latest rosters?¿ I have two MC files and works better the latest. With the release rosters i'm seeing a lot of stupid forced 3pt shoots at the beginning of possesion.

# 91 EZMADDEN @ 04/08/17 10:27 AM
I only had time to play 1 quarter so I couldn't get a feel for how the game really feels post patch. But I still had the issue of the opposing PG drifting off to the sideline as I bring the ball up court. Basically leaving a wide open lane to the basket. Since I'm not a cheesy **** I never drive and take the layup. But I hate that I have to hold myself back from reacting to what the defense is giving me, and I just stand there and wait for the defender to guard me again.

The double team fix seems nice. There are just too many issues with movement for me to enjoy 2k17. Both on offensw and defense I never feel in control. Its very wonky.

Hopefully there is a HUGE emphasis on player movement, player interactions, and all things defense for 2K18. They've added a ton of nice things over the last few years, but they need to fix the issues above to bring it all together.

# 93 simbayless @ 04/08/17 12:55 PM
Will they ever listen to us about CPU Psychic awareness and latteral movement? That right there made me stop playing months ago.A 66 ovr in DEFENSE should not know my 95 off rated every move. The mirroring got to stop.

This better not equal as a nerf to online defense - it's already bad enough - pretty much making offense easier than it is. People don't like to pass as it is - some of these things atleast made them pass. Knowing 2k they try to fix something and make something worse.

Hopefully that means speedboosting is nerfed atleast - but i doubt it. If so then atleast we have something positive.

Very pissed that they didn't adress brick wall. Or atleast pick dodger. Pshh.

The best we can hope is more positives than negatives come from this patch.

I wonder if "Among the changes" means there is more they did their not telling us.

i really really hope ea sports push hard with nba live 18, 2k games have not improved this game since 2k12, i really tired of been playing a game with code errors, being myself a game developer i know how really easy is to fix buggy code and AI because most of the time is just a simple conditional being applied in the wrong place.

Too little too late for me with this patch. I played last night (I haven't played in 2 weeks). Played Cavs vs Hawks. Game felt good but I didn't fall for it. Game was different the 1st 3 quarters until the 4th. I wanted to play today to see if it wasn't placebo. It's back to the same old 2K today.

I'm done with 2K. Still not buying 2K18. I'm not playing this game again. MLB 17 will have my time all year until NBA Live 18. It's over for me. I can't take it anymore. 1 game that felt good in 3 quarters and now it's back to the way it was? Yes, it's not as bad as before but it's still ****. Thanks for the patch but it's too little too late and isn't much of a change. Don't fall for the placebo effect. Play more than one game.

Initial impression:

Played last night - Lakers (ME) vs Thunder (CPU)

Offensive dribbling - felt nice but I still don't like the auto-hesitation coming out of dribble moves. However, I did like that the defense was better at cutting me off then merely bumping into me (e.g. it felt like they would get to where I was planning to go before I got there as opposed to just knocking me out of position with their body). I'm not sure if its a placebo effect of the patch, but I felt like a change had been made there.

Running Plays and Off-Ball Movement- Players felt smarter on the offensive end with less bumping. I will say I felt like my bad defenders got punished. Every time, McDermott came off a screen Nick Young struggled to follow and I enjoyed that. However, Deng did a much better job getting over and around screens to contest shots. On the offensive end, I liked what I saw from my guards. Russell could get over and around screens but Russ was pretty much lock step with him. Even when he bounced off a screen Russ' foot speed would allow him to close gaps quickly. I liked that.

Transition - Trying to slow Russ and Thunder's offense down was a real challenge. I nearly gave up the game to Kanter and Adams, and was forced to change my defensive settings to "Limit Transition" to keep them in check, which through off my defense a bit. I liked it since I couldn't bump Russ off his transition effort. Again, very happy with this.

Thus far, I'm rather pleased.

I think these fixes are pretty solid. The game plays a great game of basketball, I'm having a blast even before the patch. Not really sure what people expect, nothing ever is going to be flawless. There is always going to be that group of people that are never satisfied no matter what.

Could be placebo, but I'm noticing a hell of a lot more steals in terms of tipped passes. I'm also getting a TON of steals from inbound passes.

In the 2 MyTeam games I played last night I had 10 and 12 steals. This is really interesting.

Had the same thing. But it was only one game for me.

with the new roster file, a lot of stars have shooting and touches tendencies in the 40s. Westbrook has low 40s in both so do Curry and Durant. When I simmed a season a couple time, russ only average 16 ppg, curry only average 15.5 ppg, Kyle Lowry only averaged 12ppg. There are a lot more like this, Lesser players like Derrick Jones on Phoenix have shooting and touches tendencies of 100 or close to it.
