  • Improvements to double team logic for more appropriate rotations and to prevent help defenders from leaving their assignments.
  • Enhanced several dribble size-up combos to make them more responsive when chaining moves together.
  • Improved logic for off-ball collisions to prevent excessive bumping, resulting in a smoother offensive flow.
  • Removed select dribbler collision reactions that would slow down the ball handler when contact was made from behind.
  • Offensive AI enhancements for better decision making when countering double teams.
  • Fixed an issue that would allow you to travel if rapidly chaining together certain rhythm dribble animations.
  • Fixed an issue that was preventing some players from signing a 10-day contract in MyGM/MyLEAGUE.

Why would you guys wait until now to let us know that? I think people would sooner know than be uselessly hopeful for months. It just leads to more disappointment and knowing would have helped people manage expectations.
This is very tricky because, one can be seen as not being a team player to throw your workmates under the bus and I can't quite answer for them, and I can't fix it myself so it's not much I can really say without looking like an a-hole to them or to you guys. So when that happens you just kind of have to shut up and hope and wait and see.

It never fails that as soon as I think I know something can't be done.
Someone up and does it and then you look crazy and people think you lying etc. LOL. So when your not sure, unfortunately silence is the best way to proceed to keep from offending the wrong person.

It's something I have had to learn and I am sure there is room for improvement on my end.

I appreciate that fam. But I also sincerely understand your frustration. Believe me we got a lot of work to do and we know it. We are not swayed by the sales. It is clear our hardcore fans think we have lost a step. We don't like how that sentiment feels and are working feverishly to correct it.

Just remember with all the flaws we introduce we also on a yearly basis deliver the same amount of content in sheer size of the game as a game in GTA that is only made every 5 years or so.

So what I am saying is even on years when our execution isn't where you would like it we give you everything we have got.

So in short like my man Hancock said. We can be better. We will be better ! But honestly we will never be perfect. It's gone be some ish wrong with 18. I can tell you that right now LOL.

There are problems/bugs in the game that will apparently never be fixed. While I like the stuff they do in these updates, they aren't really coded fixes, they are slider adjustments.

"We moved X slider this way, we moved Y slider that way and the rest of the dev team is done with 2k17 and has been working on 2k18"
I'm sorry fam. But this is all the way incorrect.

I spent the last month working on the AI portions of this update. What I did goes far beyond simple moving sliders. And new code was introduced and old code done away with.

We completely changed the way double teams when they come work and the data pushing them is all new.

I understand everyone has opinions but this for certain is incorrect concerning what was done for this update.

Sounds like an improvement in several key areas, although I haven't played in a few months. I would just love to see them find a formula and stick to it going into next year and beyond, particularly when it comes to the on-ball defense aspect.

I felt like early in the year, the game played the way I wanted it to. I could get by bigs with smaller players without having to use a bunch of dribble moves, and the collisions felt smooth and organic. Then a patch comes along and suddenly I felt like the CPU was mirroring me again, and even the slightest hip bump seemed to be enough to derail my drive. I think that was about the point where I threw in the towel.

They have great people working on this game, including some of the most revered members of our own OS community. I have the utmost faith in them getting things right eventually. It just wasn't consistently good enough for me this year.

Great job 2K. I'm freezing at the Logo screen again. I'm assuming there won't be anymore patches so I'll be stuck on this screen until 2k18 ?

This highlights again why we need for 2K to make the decision at the business level that greater engagement and openness with the targeted sim hard core community is warranted for marketing and game development purposes. That would relieve you of that pressure and the impossibility of that situation.

And in the event an update is overcome by events - where, say, something thought to be impossible becomes possible or vice versa - we need only look to when those things have happened when Beluba talks with us.

When those things have occurred, the community has always responded 85% responsibly and forgiving. And having the extra information allows the mods here to shut down the people who will vocally and irrationally hurl negativity and ill informed critiques and misunderstandings that metastasize and take on a life of their own.

Great. Just when they patch double teams the power goes out in my hood and I have to wait even longer to download the patch

Yep. After playing some games on MC i have to say that gameplay is improved. Paint are no more exploited and no stupid double teams (only when you are on fire) I think there are more fixes than patch notes says.

The only problem now for me is that i was playing on Superstar and become so easy for the user. Time to change to HOF and let's see what happends.

GET RID OF VC. We can't spectate games in MyGm simply because you don't want us accumulating VC. Nobody asked you guys to stuff every mode with unwanted VC. VC is a scam, an NBA player can't afford Jordans in game, makes no sense. NBA players use VC to improve their jumpers (sim, yeh right). VC literally ruins every single game mode.

I was wondering if i should make a new thread for this - but check this out online guys.

Specifically the Mike Wang part - looks like he'll be tweaking shooting sliders again tomorrow.

I like everything i saw im glad this is coming out a good few months before the new 2K release

According to Mike Wang's Twitter, there's a shooting patch coming tomorrow.

Guess we'll be chucking tire irons at the rim again. Great.

I can really appreciate the willingness to admit that there are issues and work needs to be done; One of the major reasons people become frustrated stems from people stepping up and point out legitimate issues that negatively affect gameplay and receiving nothing but silence in response.Though perhaps not intentional, the fact remains it tends to project an uncaring attitude (IMO of course).

haven't checked yet, but has the playing time in mycareer been adjusted? do i still have to play in blow outs in the 4th, even though i'm the league's mvp?

will it ever be adjusted? can't be that complicated, can it?

In my experience the minutes seemed to be spread out a little better (i.e. more realistic rotations).

While not perfect,at 35 minutes I was at least playing for about 8-9 minutes per quarter and not running around out there for almost a quarter and a half at a shift.

The way i see it, is I'm going to win the games anyway, so having the game play nicer and less ridiculously is a plus, because useless team mates, CPU mirroring controller input, and draining 3 after 3 regardless of abilities or defence is not the way to move the series forward.
I'm seeing interesting things like more natural steals and like you say not much more 3pt wide open because your teammates. They look smarter on offense too also. I like that.

My only problem now it's become easy for the user and my Center (Cousins i play for Pelicans) getting around 25 rebounds for game lol. I guess nothing is perfect.

I think changing the way collisions work makes the difference between good rebounders and bad rebounders much more noticeable, as you don't get yanked into dodgy boxout animations so much and when you do, you can actually get around them sometimes now.

Played my first MyCareer game post patch and I like it so far. There's still some things that aren't perfect and probably will be that way for the duration of the game but for a 12 minute game on HOF, it had a realistic score (106-98) with my team having 47% FG and the opposing team having 39% (they had 40some% in the first half and 20some% in the second). Keeping in mind I started this particular save weeks after the game came out, this isn't with the updated tendencies since I don't think those would carry over to old saves so I imagine it may be even smoother on a fresh save.

Wish the load times could have been improved since having a few MyCareers means more than a minute in load times (compared to the 45 seconds on another account with only one career) but I felt more like I was playing actual basketball in this game more than I have in a while. It was nice not to be double teaming even for just assists (which used to happen often) and I'll have to see how it is online but the passing felt crisp again like it did before to me too. Kudos to 2K for taking care of some issues.

I had a similar experience, 112-107 with both teams shooting in the 44-48% range; the only issues I had was the cpu got 19 steals (though I only had 1 TO and it was legit my fault).
