"A rookie defensive back sealed the fate of the Ravens today, sending the Titans into the second round of the playoffs in Madden NFL 10.

The Tennessee Titans (9-7) took on the Baltimore Ravens (10-6) in the opening game of the AFC Wildcard game today in a crazy back and forth game filled with dazzling special teams and defensive play. QB Joe Flacco threw an interception as time wound down that rookie CB Ryan Mouton intercepted with less than 20 seconds to go in regulation to seal the Titans victory."

My biggest concern is that if the defenses/pass rushes get ramped up too much then almost every teams defense will better than it should be. I'm not saying that the people that are concerned about the defenses/pass rush are wrong at all, I just don't want to see Ian go and tweak every defender to make the correct play or get to the QB every time, because that just isn't realistic either....some teams (yes, like my Lions) couldn't get to the Quarterback if they had 13 guys playing defense......just my 1/2 a cent...

I'm curious, for those of you saying the running animations are a game-breaker for you, have you played any Madden or NCAA next-gen in the past couple years? I'm assuming not, and here's why: NCAA 09 was my first next-gen football purchase, and upon first playing, I was pretty disgusted with the running animations. I thought for sure they were going to detract from my enjoyment of the overall experience. But in reality, after about 50 games (I played over 500), you really stop paying attention to how weird they are. You just get used to it, and before long you really don't notice it at all.

Ian said since day one that gameplay was going to be the focus. You get used to the animations and they don't detract from the real gameplay. I'm sure they will be modified/redone for Madden 11, since they're far from perfect. But I'm just saying, don't convince yourself they're going to take away the fun for you. Certainly don't pass on the game just because of the running animations, for your own sake.

Halftime highlights really should be in chronological order

There is going to be. Its alpha and they have not implement it yet. Same thing for stadium music and the PA announcer.

No audio for the refs is fine with me. The only thing that Ian should change about that is to put the ref cutscenes in broadcast format rather than just up front. Pretty easy fix. Presentation is great Ian, good work. But I have to nit pick a little. I mean the halftime and post game shows were absolutely boring. All I heard were the same NFL sounds with no commentary at all. I had to load up another youtube video of Al Michael's commentary to make it sound authentic!

Ian...this game is going to blow us away! Thanks for all your hard work on this! Also, is there a sweeter (non-traditional) uniform in football than the Titans' all baby blue? Doubt it!

Commando Pride!

The reason there is no audio for the refs is because Ian turned off stadium sounds so the soundtrack music (which hasn't been announced yet) doesn't play.

It's true.

The vid had the stadium sound off since the soundtrack listing hasn't been released yet.

How big of a role will pass block, and awareness sliders play in fixing the defensive problems? I'm guessing more Def awareness, and less OL pass block would help a great deal in addressing some of these problems. Any slider guru's out there, Sm27, anybody seen Sm27?

Ravens fans leaving at the end probably saying "Cmon lets get the F outta here". LOL. Thats awesome! Nicely done

Ian you the $**t you have made a great game first off. Secondly you know you have a good game when people are can only come up with problems like "no over throws"

The only thing that I saw that was a lil off was that the coach talking to his team too much during cut scenes when his back should never be towards the game.

But other than that small lil thing you should go down in history for the Dev team that saved madden.

seriously though............Why cant the highlights be in order? Is there some kind of programming barrier that would've messed up some other feature?

Big leap forward, looks fun to play. Still work to be done. Chris Johnson was way too good here.

The one thing that's just killed EA football, both college and pro for me since 2003 is the ridiculous amount of pick 6's. Ruins a game some times because all the other great stuff seems cheapened with those scores.

It's only one video but it looks like pick 6 party is alive and well against the CPU. These guys make picks than have super human change of direction skills and boom they're gone. HATE this about EA football. I think there's simply nothing they can do about it or I know Ian already would have.

I agree with the bolded part... It makes the game SO frustrating when there are at least 2 pick 6s a game... it should be a RARE occurrence... Like I stated earlier... I would even settle for the offensive players simply running faster to catch up to the guy that made the interception... It would not be a realistic approach perhaps... but anything to stop them from happening.....
