NCAA Football 13 Title Update #2 is available now for 360 and PS3.

As posted yesterday, below are the list of fixes.

Gameplay
  • Zone Defense has been updated.
- We improved receiver leverage logic as well as predicting when a receiver will be in or out of their zone.
- Improved Deep Half Zone decision making about when to split between uncovered receivers. Also, allow more zone overlapping in deep half to cover more area.
- Deep half defenders were dropping too close to the sideline or dropping outside when no receiver was outside of their position.
  • No-Huddle QB Spy bug fixed. Defenders will no longer go into spy assignments while in man coverage.
  • Receivers weren’t looking for hot-read passes.
  • CPU QBs passing during the drop would get set passes instead of on-the-run inaccurate passes.
  • Change the logic of man defenders so they don't run into the backfield and past the receiver they are covering.
  • Route running near sideline was causing issues especially on comeback routes.
  • Fixed players not respecting global show blitz/press/back off coverage after handing off a receiver.
  • Fixed sideline streak routes so they don't get clamped in a way that the route would end after 10 or 15 yards.
  • Drive summaries should now reset after each scoring drive.
  • Fixed HB stretch play issue where TE’s would be frozen in place during certain blocking animations.
  • Fixed an issue where if a defender made an interception in the end zone and fumbled the ball before his feet touched the ground, it was being counted as a fumble and not an incomplete pass.
  • Resolved an alignment issue where DB on HB would pick up FB instead of HB when HB was put in motion
  • Removed exploit that allowed users to create slant routes to the sideline by motioning a WR and flipping the play.
  • QB Rushing up the middle from under center effectiveness has been balanced.
  • FG holders are no longer downed by contact.
  • Increased frequency of AI using ball carrier special moves.
  • AI play call tuning: No 4th and long run calls; less draws and screens.
  • Ball Hawk feature implemented for user pass defense.
  • Fixed frozen players after celebration dives.
  • Fixed wildcat Play Action exploit.
  • Fixed Defenders not reacting to the QB on read option and option plays when the users defensive adjustment vs. option is set to Aggressive.
  • Fixed shake blitz exploit.
  • Fixed exploit that allowed kicking team to recover squib kicks using low rated kickers.
  • Fixed defensive hot routes after offensive play flip.
  • Fixed issue where waiting for the defense to make their adjustments before picking a play when running ho huddle/hurry up offense caused the defense to reset their play back to the original play.
  • Fixed ‘Jump the Snap’ blitz exploit.
  • Resolved issue where defenders would not react or would be stuck in read and react behavior vs. the option.
Dynasty
  • Once a promise becomes active, it was duplicating after each week advance.
  • Recruit Reports & Advisory options remained even after the "Allow Time Savers" setting was turned off.
  • Schools with a D+ Program Tradition could not get their grade increased through wins and championships.
  • In the off-season, post season games were not shown to have been played.
  • Fixed an issue where walk-on players were not appearing on the Online Dynasty Web Site.
  • You will now get your points back if a recruit instantly commits during a phone call.
  • Fixed an issue where swayed pitches and grades weren’t being displayed correctly.
Custom Playbooks
  • Fixed an issue where if CPU coaches were given a custom playbook, the players were occasionally lining up close to the ball.
  • Fixed an issue where the user was unable to create an offensive playbook that consisted of 1 of every formation.
  • Fixed an issue where the user was sometimes losing functionality after the UI disappears in Custom Playbooks.
  • Increased the stability of the product by fixing various crashes.
In addition, you will see a "Uniform Store" added to the menu. If it's an update to a team's default uniform, you will get those uniforms at no additional charge, via download in the store if and when available. The first uniforms will be available in the store beginning next month.

What I'm noticing most about post-patch play is that the CPU defense is MUCH smarter in pass coverage. For me, I've had to lower that slider and up HUM QB accuracy and WR catching just a tad.

I like that they're tougher in coverage; it makes you really think about where you want to go with the ball, and sometimes it really is better to take the sack or throw it away.

The running game on both sides feels largely the same, though the CPU HB is more likely to use his moves. I wouldn't say that this doubles the effectiveness of CPU HBs, but it's certainly a welcome addition.

Option reads are iffy. I used to remove the option via custom play books, but now I leave them in and only see some really screwy ones once or twice a game, maybe.

As for the CPU play calling, I have to make a plug for Arkansaw's coaching sliders; they make a HUGE difference in the way the CPU plays. Just making sure those values are right affects screens and draws, downfield passing, blitz frequency, etc.

On the whole, the patch is a plus for me. The game is more competitive on the CPU side without being super arcade in my estimation.

Honestly you have to play the game for yourself....Personally this is the best college football game. I play with Mkharsh sliders with some of my own tweaks...

But some people on here will complain about anything....The game is not perfect but just enjoy what they do right..I hope this helps !

Yeah, I've experienced the same deal. I've only been playing exhibition games up to this point, but I have yet to see the CPU's offense act as if it's behind and needs to get down the field quickly when I have a lead of, say, 10 points with 4 minutes left and the CPU has the ball.
One game I was clinging onto an 8 point lead with around 2 minutes left and the CPU ran three running plays in between the tackles and then punted the ball back to me and never called time out when I was running the clock out.
I don't expect the CPU's AI to be perfect by any stretch but this is just really bad.

I've looked all over and I can't seem to find a definitive answer. Do you have to reset your dynasty for the patch to take affect?

The assumption is no, but like you said nothing definitive has been said.

I believe the freezing issues have been addressed.

If somehow you're still having them I suggest posting in the freezing thread or maybe head over the the easports support section.

Absolutely not. The freezing is still in there, and in some cases worse. I still cant get through a dynasty game without a freeze. I dont know what if anything is being done about the freezing. Absolute game killer.

Run a no-huddle play in your dynasty. If your receivers automatically do the "I can't hear you animation" then the patch is there. That would be my test.

The freezing issues have not even been slightly addressed.

Your mistake indeed

as a matter of fact, I encountered a total of 0 freezes before this patch. Now it freezes every 4 games or so.

I posted quite a few solutions in a couple of different freezing threads. Those suggestions which I found on another board worked for me, never froze after that. I'm not saying that they'll work for you, but have you at least tried them?

So y in the hell after this update, when I run no huddle offense, my players have trouble hearing even at f@@&ing home games and on every play of the no huddle? I can see every now and then but every time? Fricken ridiculous. Also if the computer does it their players have no trouble whatsoever.

So I am assuming from the patch notes, that it didn't actually do anything to solve the issue of the CPU taking sacks when they do happen to call a screen? They call a few less screens, but I am still seeing the CPU take too many screen sacks, when they are called. Only thing the patch notes mention is reducing the frequency of screens, not the actual logic on those plays being adjusted. Seems like that is applying a small bandage to something that needs stitches. It is still not a fix for the core issue.

Agreed. I mean like I said I could understand an away game and maybe every 5 or 6 plays, but during a home game??? I loved this game before but since the update I've gotten so frustrated multiple times.

so basically, there is no way to pull off a 3 second, hurry up score for the win; if you dont have a time out, you are screwed.

So the corners back pedaling or freezing on options plays is still happening. A full development cycle and they cannot get rid of this issue?

Also, in TCU's 425, they never bring their weak safety to the read side when there is trips. Yet in this game they do. The alignment issue for the 425 when in man coverage is still there.

Oh and corners are stil running past hitches and into the offensive backfield

Correct. This completely ruins the game for me as my hometown team I play with is the Oregon Ducks. So not broken before but after the patch, now it is.

I think has improved game quite a bit. The safety play has been high lighted as an issue and i hope the development team can a fix into the game that address the problem to include the crazy overtime glitch. My problem with the game is the crowd it's sounds good but the reaction of the crowd does not match. Where are the cheerleaders seen the commercials and what is wrong with Texas A&M presentation? Two years and its still not right. UAB staduim has upper deck that does not exist as a part of the structure any more. Little like stuff bothers me probably more some of the problems reported. An if a player has been on the team two years get his number correct EA on the master roster that can not be changed for online play.

One more thing I know madden is good but I have seen some stuff that tells me NCAA is not too far behind. The tackles and everything are great in madden but I see glimpses of neat stuff happening in NCAA also like tipped balls being caught and balls falling to the ground being caught and nice catching animations. The running game
is good too. Running in madden is not good right now in my opinion which will probably be addressed. So I'm just saying this game is not a total lost because of the problems we maybe experiencing.

I think I found a fix to the cant hear no huddle.... After you no huddle, pick your play and press b (I'm on 360) once you are controlling someone other than the qb, press a to hike the ball... I did this 5 times in a row and it worked. Let me know if this helps
