In the interest of speeding up time in the game, I wonder in the future if players can't be given the option to play a 3 or 4 game series all in one shot. Essentially, if I go with QC, it would be great for all the assets to load just that one long time, and then after each game, the stats could be saved temporarily until the series ended when all the stats could be saved into the franchise. Just a thought.

This would be immensely helpful in RTTS too.

Is that what this new batting cam does?
Not quite Aguero, it's a camera that lets you see how the ball has come off the bat, the reaction of the defense and the hustle and strategy of the baserunning while all of that is going on. It's a very nicely done camera mode, for the offense.

You do get a great feel for the flight and travel of the ball but its from a batter perspective, as if you just hit it yourself.

edit --

It was funny, Hunter Pence when he pulled a ball during HR Derby, he felt as if it was gone, but it didn't leave the stadium so Yasiel Puig started laughing at him. That camera really gives you a good batters perspective of the hits and keeps you well in tune with baserunning strategy vs, the defensive play on field.

Signature animations would be welcome addition as it would separate the all stars from the fringe major leaguers as the really is no diff except there attributes ..In turn gameplay would look and feel diff .

And in all these pages and videos Russell and Woodweaver have explained all the additions and changes they have put in and all you can see is the rebuilt stadiums ,maybe the PS4 version is not for you.

The ball physics look good so maybe its more of wanting to see like maybe a cut away camera to show where the ball lands now . Would love to see fans catch the ball .. Would love to see dirt grass stains on the ball .. Maybe i jus want to much but i cant understand why weather is not portrayed better ..

I also noticed how a player fouled a ball off near the dugout and the bat boy ran up the steps and grabbed the ball and ran back to the dugout.

Where can I find a link to watch the part of the livestream after hunter and plug leave that I can watch on my ps4 using YouTube tv?

# 216 xNeurosiis @ 04/14/14 11:03 PM
Something I noticed during the livestream: during the first inning when the Dodgers were at bat, specifically during Puig's character's at bat, you can see the stadium lights trails around the bat as it passes over the group of lights. Hopefully this makes sense, lol.

I hate doing this but I'm going to re-post something I wrote in another thread because its how I felt when I posted it and its how I feel after seeing this video even more so:

"How quickly we all forget SMH. Maybe its because its been almost ten years, but I'm sure a lot of you remember when EA went from the PS2/Xbox era to the 360/PS3 era, what an unmitigated disaster that transition was? EA touted they built all their sports games "from the ground up" (we all know that was a lot of corporate speak) but what we mainly got were stripped down versions of previous gen games. At what point could you honestly say Madden caught up to Madden 07 on Xbox/PS2 with this last generation of titles in overall quality? Madden 13? Maybe not even until M25.

EA learned with this transition and you only need to look at the fully-featured versions of Madden and FIFA on the XO and PS4 to see the lessons learned. 2K took a few chances with the modes on next gen (which I personally loved but it was a polarizing decision) but they largely kept the gameplay the same and put a lot of their effort into the player models (which were fantastic) and said they put a lot of work into the arenas and crowd (which were underwhelming).

And yet, with all this info and knowledge, we have people that come in here and talk about how they were hoping for more. We're getting re-done player models (aside from the skeletons), stadiums built from the ground up (pretty evident looking at the vids they are mostly all new), lighting and textures redone (I would hope no one disputes that), a bunch of new animations and every single game mode and feature on the PS4 version that was on the PS3 version.

I fail to see what the problem is, if I can be frank. On top of all this, my PS3 RTTS and Franchise will be able to be continued on the PS4 and even better than that, in The Show 15 and beyond.

I gave SCEA $120 of my money for the two versions and feel I'm getting double that in value. I've mentioned in other threads, this jump to the next generation of consoles has been less of an immediately evident upgrade visually than any before it. For a host of reasons. Aside from playing BF4 with 64 players, I've yet to play a game that made me say "this is why I got next gen". What I've seen of The Show on PS4, when these systems first got announced, no question I thought we'd be getting more.

But now we're armed with 6 months of knowledge of what next gen really is. And with those recalibrated expectations, I'm utterly stunned at what SCEA San Diego has been able to accomplish all the while putting out a PS3 and Vita version that had a ton of new features in it themselves. Nothing but a standing ovay for Ramone and the gang from this guy. You continue to raise a bar no other studio can even look up and see."

Which isn't to say the game is exactly how I want it to be. No game is and ever will be perfect. In the future, I'd love to see:

- much better transitional animations
- more animations to differentiate the different types and skill sets of players (think NBA 2K series with certain animations only available once certain attribute levels are reached)
- licensed minor league parks
- even more done to the grass and dirt textures, especially from a distance
- more commentary (always a sore spot on here but even as a guy who's been playing this series since...well since before Vasgersian joined the booth, I absolutely love everything about the presentation. Just want more of it)

...and I'm sure if I thought really REALLY hard I could come up with a ton more stuff. But it'd be beyond nitpicking. At this point, with this game, every year is just icing on the cake and the icing is always a different, better flavour. Like Ramone said, 75 people worked on this game. Think about that. In EA's conglomerate of sports studios, NHL's dev team is considered tiny and they have 90ish people.

These guys put out 3 fully featured games.

I got 99 problems but this game ain't one.

I understand Puig is popular but the language barrier makes it tough for him to be a desired participant from my POV

For me, it was less about what he was saying and more about his reactions. It was awesome to see him enjoying himself as much as he did. I didn't even mind Pence being a little whiny because I think most of us would be in that situation.

No question though, I was looking for the slider like The Show has to turn just the host volume all the way down...

Puig is fun, even with somewhat of a language barrier. It was a privilege to see them play.
