Madden NFL 16 News Post


The much anticipated Madden NFL 16 patch has arrived for both Xbox One (732 MB) and PlayStation 4 (749 MB). Check out the list of updates below, which include improvements and fixes for gameplay, Connected Franchise, Madden Ultimate Team, and more.

UPDATE: Just received official word from EA.

Players will not need to restart their Connected Franchises to see most of the fixes in the Title Update. However, due to draft classes being randomly generated, you will have to restart if you want the changes to your current draft class, as we cannot retroactively change those ratings.

Also of note, the roster update is scheduled to arrive on Friday, according to Rex Dickson, creative director of the Madden NFL series.

GAMEPLAY
  • Addressed issue where AI defenders would get encroachment penalties after random huddle breaks and occasionally during the no-huddle offense
  • Addressed rare issue where receivers were called down by contact even when they weren’t being touched
  • Addressed quarterback locomotion warps on certain drop backs
CONNECTED FRANCHISE
  • Addressed issue where players could receive over 100 confidence resulting in a short-term attribute boost
  • Tuned regression for offensive linemen
  • Tuned rookie deep accuracy rating
  • Tuned supersim stats where pocket quarterbacks were generating too many rushing attempts
  • Addressed issue where team could sign elite free agents for a low amount
  • Addressed issue where some free agents would disappear from the free agent pool
MADDEN ULTIMATE TEAM
  • Addressed a rare issue where certain items would not have an image
OTHER
  • Addressed issue where the commentary line and presentation would repeat for a quarterback who returned from injury
  • Addressed a crash that could occur when using multiple controllers
  • Addressed a crash that could occur when exiting a game and the background video would continue to loop
  • Addressed general bugs and stability issues

Other users have noticed same thing w/ Brees, Manning, etc. They just take off scrambling for no reason.

Disappointing to here they may have patch some problems into the game. CPU QBs taking sacks was the reason last years games was unplayable to me vs the CPU. I don't enjoy the XP system/overall CFM style madden uses, I get my career mode fix from FIFA but it sucks to see they are going in the wrong direction.

What about the gameplay outside of CFM though? Anyone seen this QB issue? I will play the FIFA demo for the next 2 months before I play another Madden game where the CPU QBs are trying to scramble over and over..

I know this is probably a dumb post, but I am gonna try and turn off intentional grounding in the penalty section during CFM and see if this helps. Its the only thing I can think of without physically going to Florida and losing my mind with EA

I may be in the minority, but I just deal with the issues and play. I know that isn't ideal and it let's EA off of the hook, but until they have some competition, this is what you will get. I actually really like the game play this year. I'm a Bucs fan, so the LT issue is normal. I'm always running for my life. Hopefully they can come up with something to make everyone happy. After all, we do fork out $60 one way or another.

How about invisible players? I've seen almost to whole O-line vanish, or breaking a punt return hand get crushed by then invisible punter.

I just think there have been way too many features functioning as variables added to CFM over the years. From new player attribute types, to XP, to drive goals. Probably time to take a good look at the mode, scale back the variables, get a good core sim engine, and progression engine working within it, and get it working in a predictable, and reliably tuneable manner.

I love the gameplay this year, and I appreciate how they've tried to build some depth in CFM in recent years, but I feel like the features have missed the mark and only complicated existing issues with the sim engine ten fold.

Haven't been on to play and there are too many pages so has super sim stats for offense been fixed? I know they tuned pocket passers to not run as much but it seems every offense runs the ball majority of the time no matter what. Leading to decent running yards but like 50 yards passing

So they tuned pocket QB's "not" to run.? It appears it the opposite as pocket QB's are running too much

I just want to make one small comment.

I've been behind EA since last year and love Rex is on the team. The game is far better than it has ever been.

BUT!!!!!

EA QA team should all be fired or add another 50+ employees. Its absolutly mind numbing the problems we are faced with at launch every year. It literally doesn't pay to get the game at launch but months down the road for cheaper once they work all the issues out.

My sincere comment to EA, fix your bug squashing department, its not coming off as professional.

I have xbox one and the and the game was updating as it should but it was stuck on 99% for a long time so I clicked on the other madden icon and it took me to the game but I don't think I got the update. How do I know if the update worked? And if it didnt how to I update it again?

Wish I was man. Had to shut the game off because I was getting pissed and it was time for my son to eat but if I play any more tonight I'll be sure to get some vids.

This is the saddest admission. There NEEDS to be a way for some competition.

It's a shame that so many people are playing the role of QA testers instead of actually making an attempt to enjoy the game.
