Madden NFL 16 News Post


The much anticipated Madden NFL 16 patch has arrived for both Xbox One (732 MB) and PlayStation 4 (749 MB). Check out the list of updates below, which include improvements and fixes for gameplay, Connected Franchise, Madden Ultimate Team, and more.

UPDATE: Just received official word from EA.

Players will not need to restart their Connected Franchises to see most of the fixes in the Title Update. However, due to draft classes being randomly generated, you will have to restart if you want the changes to your current draft class, as we cannot retroactively change those ratings.

Also of note, the roster update is scheduled to arrive on Friday, according to Rex Dickson, creative director of the Madden NFL series.

GAMEPLAY
  • Addressed issue where AI defenders would get encroachment penalties after random huddle breaks and occasionally during the no-huddle offense
  • Addressed rare issue where receivers were called down by contact even when they weren’t being touched
  • Addressed quarterback locomotion warps on certain drop backs
CONNECTED FRANCHISE
  • Addressed issue where players could receive over 100 confidence resulting in a short-term attribute boost
  • Tuned regression for offensive linemen
  • Tuned rookie deep accuracy rating
  • Tuned supersim stats where pocket quarterbacks were generating too many rushing attempts
  • Addressed issue where team could sign elite free agents for a low amount
  • Addressed issue where some free agents would disappear from the free agent pool
MADDEN ULTIMATE TEAM
  • Addressed a rare issue where certain items would not have an image
OTHER
  • Addressed issue where the commentary line and presentation would repeat for a quarterback who returned from injury
  • Addressed a crash that could occur when using multiple controllers
  • Addressed a crash that could occur when exiting a game and the background video would continue to loop
  • Addressed general bugs and stability issues

Thanks man. I just did. And I can say that this is fixed perfectly. It seems it work the same as last year. Players doesn't jump points just by doing stuff in game. They do increase or decrese based on the confidence level when it goes over 60 or more. And when it does they get 1 o 3 points. Not 10 as we saw before.

Personally I'm Extremely happy with the patch and the game overall. Great game EA. best madden in years. Really.

I thought my experience I posted about earlier might have been a one off so I tested some more in a 32 control post-patch test CFM. I think this is a bug.

Guys like Kaepernick and Mariota want to stand in the pocket forever, but Brady, Manning, and pocket passers want to scramble, bail on the pocket, and not throw the ball away way too much.

Am I crazy? Anyone else mind testing this more thoroughly?

So there's still no way to turn off Visual Feedback (Press X for RAC, Press Y for possession, etc) in CFM?

You still have to turn it off in game every time.

i played the vikings as the raiders.

there were no noticeable sacks, teddy got out of the pocket for a couple of scrambles when i was in man defense and had his receivers covered.

i thought the game played perfectly.

now i'm going to have to play against manning, brady/ brees etc ... and see if it's happening to me.

Is the QB scrambling issue just in CFM, or is it in Play Now as well? I haven't gone into CFM yet.

I'm not sure if the bugs are showing up only in certain peoples systems but I for one have played 3 CFM games since the patch and I couldn't be happier. Before the patch if I supersim a quarter the opposing offence would run the ball three times than punt. The opposing Qb would end the game with under 100 passing.g yards. Now in the games I played post patch Jimmy G. (Opposing QB) through for 225 yards and 2 td completing 70% of his passes. I don't know the gameplay seems great to me. I haven't played against Brady, Manning or Breed but the QB I have played have not scrambled at all. I am happy with game, could is use work yes, is it unplayable not at all.

Well the issue with the CPU trading and signing players was not fixed. For me that means no CFM. Why start an offline cfm if the cpu just signs and trades people even when all settings are turned off. I am on ps4 doing a 32 team control CFM. As soon as you advance a week in preseason the CPU trades and signs players randomly.

I am playing on Ps4. Now I am in my first season so as far as LT regression I don't know. But the way I see it if you have to simulate 5-6 seasons to see problems, is it really unplayable? I may sim 1-3 games a season other than that I play the rest. I supersim during the game, I will play first quarter all on offense, second quarter all on defense Sim all of third quarter and play both sides of ball 4th quarter and I have been seeing.decent stats on both side.

Even with the patch the players will need a ton of editing.

Look at every qb and you will find that 95% are labeled as scramblers because speed is a 70 and acceleration is high. It was lazy on EA's part, they probably did it to benefit the new locomotion feature.

Well...after reading through this thread, it looks like I'll be waiting a little longer to start my CFM. I had a feeling this first patch wasn't going to be the home run everyone made it out to be. I'm no expert, but common sense tells me that they can only fix so much per patch. And every serious Madden player knows that these games come FULL of bugs and glitches when released. I say 1-2 more patches + roster updates should do it. Until then, I'll stick to playing Madden 12 and my fantasy football league LOL!
