NBA 2K17 Features League Expansion For MyGM & MyLEAGUE Modes

NBA 2K17 will feature league expansion for MyGM and MyLEAGUE modes. Check out the details in the new blog from Erick Boenisch, AKA SimBaller.

We've done a LOT of work to these modes this year, and one feature I can't stop talking about is...League Expansion. I believe what he means is not that he hopes they half-assed this new feature, but rather that hopefully not all their time and resources were spent on just this.
Which is 100% my fear as well. I'd be thrilled if they added/corrected just 50% of my CBA issues...

Didn't quite say they were in, Leftos just said it was something that didn't quite make it into 16 but it's something they're looking at. But he also said they aren't sure how realistic they want to get with it because the protections get "confusing."

Shouldn't be that hard to turn off the option if it confuses people.

I too am worried that yet another flashy option will distract from the real work that needs to be done on budgets, FA AI, trade logic, and as mentioned above matching the real CBA. It was hard to run a franchise last year with the numerous budgetary issues. 30 team control can fix almost anything but to work around the ridiculous budget issues was just laborious. Having to edit almost every free agent contract and make a million transactions in the offseason to make it all work was just ridiculously time consuming.

Has there still been no update regarding online association? I can't seem to find details online anywhere, its crazy 2K get away with this each year, 3 weeks before the game is due to release and still so much info missing. Damn I might have to skip it this year.

This would have been the time to reveal an online franchise/association/league if they had added it to myleague online for 17. Not optimistic that it was included; it's been crickets on this mode since the expansion/relocation news. Looks like another year of manual work arounds with tedious progression and regression roster updates to account for some semblance of an offseason in myleague online.

Last year the big reveal for myleague team relocation also touched upon the inclusion of myleague online. Interesting that it wasn't mentioned at all in this year's reveal. The struggle continues...sigh.

So, where is all the info? Is this it? 2 weeks out and we know NOTHING. Is this all they added to franchise? D-League make the cut? I remember them saying there was more.

I'm really sorry.

I read the first 10 and the last 8 pages and couldnt find an answer... Can we rebrand every team in the league this year on XBONE/PS4?

I'm a little worried about MyLEAGUE this year. All the features they've mentioned are things i don't really care about. Rule changes. Expansion teams. Protected picks. They're all fine features, but if the core game is just the same then i'll be disappointed. I haven't seen anything written about improvements to player progression/regression algorithms, generated player AI, 'making history' integration, player form algorithms, more detailed prospect scouting, synergistic team chemistry, smarter training development, more in-depth coaching philosophies, player personalities, etc.

I readed full article, but cant find anything about MyLeague ONLINE. Thats made me nervous.

I do like the features they have added, but the issues that have plagued MyLeague for the past several years havent been fixed than all this stuff means nothing in the end. I hope they have finally fixed all the issues, and not just added more issues with all the new stuff they added.

Does anyone have any idea if Team Relocation/Expansion is available in MyLeague Online? I haven't read anything about it. It would be sweet to have custom teams with my friends.

Sadly, they said in the other thread that MyLeague Online only supports 30 teams. No more, no less.

And that sucks. There go my plans for a friend and me to go into one with each taking an expansion team...

Guys if you have a ps4 you can do shareplay and play an offline MyLeague with your friend or whoever with team relocation.
