NBA 2K14: Next-Gen Details on Gameplay, AI, New Modes and more!

Lebron James NBA 2K14 Next-Gen.

2K Sports today revealed a whole boatload of information about NBA 2K14 on next-gen consoles, which includes a four-tier approach with NBA Today, MyCAREER. MyTEAM and MyGM all receiving a huge imagining for next-generation consoles.

They won't so don't worry about it. That will come later. I know it sucks, but it is what it is. At least we got a ton of info about the game.

Lemme get this straight: MyGM is the new Association, and your MyPlayer is the GM? So we're being forced to do MyPlayer? I'm sorry, but that's kind of BS. They've been shoving MyPlayer down our throats for awhile now, but atleast there was an option NOT to do it. I have no desire to participate in any of the "My" stuff, but now I have no option. That's not cool.

Everything else looks GREAT though.

I really give 2k credit for having a great game on current gen and not porting it over which is the norm for most developers !!! They are giving us a all new game and experience I'm excited. This his how developers show do it and by the looks of things new excuses the game sounds awesome

I think your MyPlayer is just the avatar for MyGM.

Just as your MyPlayer is the avatar for MyCareer.

They confused everyone by turning MyPlayer into a thing from a mode. MyCareer is the actualy mode we think of as MyPlayer now.

Yeah that totally throws me off. It was a funky maneuver. I'm not particularly a fan of MyPlayer's omnipresence. I'd prefer to create a MyPlayer if I played that particular mode and not bother with it if I chose not to play that mode.

You DO NOT have to play MyCareer. We have been forced to create a MyPlayer for the last few years. The Avatar you create during the first play of the game is your MyPlayer. MyPlayer and MyCareer are two separate things. MyGM will make the avatar you create(your MyPlayer) the GM of a team. You will not be a player unless you play MyCareer.

I truly hope they didn't screw up association mode, I know you guys complain about it being the same every year, but I for one, loved association mode, just needed a couple layers added to it, not completely change it.

It would be disappointing, but given they don't have the ability to do head scans/capture the classic players the drop in graphic fidelity between today's NBA and the Legends could be a little too jarring to make sense to try to incorporate in the game. And I could picture people complaining more about that than having an understanding that some things are physically impossible to do. Either way, no one should be leaping to conclusions regardless.

Everything sounds absolutely amazing but I pray to the heavens that there is a season mode in the game. It seems like association is no more.

But that's the only negative. I'd assume plenty of guys who use Association picture themselves as the GM anyway, why not make it so? Another thing would be full control, as in 30 Controlled Teams. Albert is looking into that.

He confirmed that "legends would be present in next gen"
