MLB 14 The Show Features Online Franchise - New Screenshots and Videos From Taiwan

Operation Sports reader tedus captured a few videos from his MLB 14 The Show hands-on in Taiwan. He also grabbed a couple of screenshots showing off the new front end, which confirms online franchise.

Below are a few of his impressions, after playing for 10 minutes. More info is sure to come soon, but until then, enjoy.

The field/batting camera changed!
Presentation almost the same!
Control felt good!
Base running animation felt some different!
Fielding felt more responsive

Oh believe me, it would be very cool. Maybe it will be necessary if they implement dynamic weather.

few things

will be playing this version this year. Put Waaay to much money into my PC to justify a PS4 right now. the show is basically the only non-pc game I play anymore. Maybe next year Ill pick up ps4, second go on the console for the show should be an improvement anyhew.
Excited to see they updated Justin smoaks face!! I mean that dude has a very unique grill, and I am glad they got rid of the model face from last few years.
No disrespect because I can't remember the leaders name, but does anyone know if the roster editor (the big one everyone waits for) is going to jump to next gen, or can we count on the team one more year to release a PS3 version. thanks and cheers all, can't wait for april!

There will be rosters for BOTH. Book on it. Knight has stated that. You can bet we are all dedicated to having all enjoy the set

All this stadium talk got me thinking.
I'm not upgrading to the PS4 and was wondering if they'll continue to update stadiums in the PS3 versions. For example, Wrigley is getting tons of renovations (scoreboard, signs, ect.) in the next few years. Will these updates be implemented into the PS3 version year by year? Did the ps2 stadiums continue to be updated?

Obviously with this being the first year on ps4, i'm not expecting anything major, but i do hope they are able to get a few more of the little things in there this year that you'd see in a real game, ie. ball boys, bat boys.

Also a better editor, with more customization options (I specifically really hope for better jerseys with the option to wear it unbuttoned)

Lastly, obviously hope for their to be an/open closed version of the stadiums with roofs.

I'm not really concerned with gameplay at all, i already know it's going to be great, so these are really the only things i'm concerned with, as well the ugly turn stats would take deep into franchise mode and rtts last year.

Also, to the person that said retractable roofs aren't necessary, i beg to differ, playing as the Blue Jays (or any other team with a retractable roof) in April with the roof opened and every player wearing long sleeves doesn't even look remotely realistic.

Is this game good for beginners to pick up and learn? Been wanting to get back on baseball games for awhile.

Correct me if I am wrong, but aren't there already retractable roofs?
I was playing my Vita the other day and hitting batting practice in Rogers Centre and noticed that the sun was setting and provided a nice orange tint during my hitting session. When the game had started, there were lights instead of sky.

There are no retractable roofs in The Show.

After seeing the new dynamic cameras and scoreboard, the only things I really need for 14 (I'll be playing on PS4) are great graphics (those early screenshots are beautiful) and slightly improved gameplay, like the ball physics and baserunning. Aside from that, I'd like some more/better batting stances and pitching motions... but I really don't see a way I dislike this game

Very nice. Even if there wasn't a next gen version, I'd be pretty stoked for the next iteration based on what I just saw.

And saw someone point out how they replaced base running ability with Steal. Nice simplification. I have to imagine this isn't the only change to attributes they've made.
